Sneasler is a great cleaner and revenge killer that's able to take out sweepers like Mewtwo, Zacian, and Ogerpon-H thanks to its highed-powered STAB moves, great Attack and Speed stats, and useful utility options. Gunk Shot is generally preferred as the Poison-type STAB move as it OHKOes foes like Zacian, although Dire Claw trades off power for consistency. U-turn gives Sneasler the ability to set the tempo of the game by generating momentum for its team and helping bring in setup sweepers like Mewtwo and Zacian. Throat Chop provides coverage against Ghost-types like Gholdengo and Giratina, although Switcheroo is an option to cripple walls like Magearna and Dialga. Tera Dark can be used with Throat Chop, boosting the move and giving Sneasler a useful Psychic-type immunity, letting it take on Pokemon like Deoxys. Tera Fighting is a option to boost Close Combat, allowing Sneasler to achieve damage thresholds like OHKOing Dialga and Arceus-Dark. Sneasler generally fits best on offensive teams looking for a reliable cleaner and revenge killer. Pokemon like Palafin, Landorus-T, and Cylizar can make VoltTurn cores with Sneasler. As Sneasler's damage output can be potentially disappointing, it appreciates entry hazards from Pokemon like Great Tusk and Magearna making it more difficult to switch into and more offensively threatening. Sneasler can't do much against Pokemon like Arceus-Poison and Gholdengo, so Pokemon like Landorus-T that can take these threats on are useful teammates.

Thanks to great Attack and Speed stats combined with Unburden and Swords Dance, Sneasler is one of Ubers UU's most threatening late-game sweepers. Dire Claw is generally preferred as the Poison-type STAB move to nail Pokemon like Zacian and Clefable, but Gunk Shot can be opted for instead, trading off consistency for raw power, allowing Sneasler to achieve damage thresholds such as having a chance to OHKO Palafin-H and Arceus-Grass after Stealth Rock. Sneasler has a variety of options for coverage; Throat Chop is its strongest option against Solgaleo, Giratina, and Gholdengo, although Acrobatics naturally synergizes with Unburden and hits Pokemon like Great Tusk. Finally, Shadow Claw targets Annihilape and aformentioned Solgaleo and Giratina. Each Tera type should be paired with a coverage option. Tera Dark gives an immunity to Psychic-type attacks from Pokemon like Mewtwo and boosts Throat Chop, allowing it to beat Pokemon like Giratina. Tera Flying gives an immunity to Ground-type attacks and boosts Acrobatics, letting Sneasler have an easier time against Pokemon like Great Tusk. Tera Ghost gives an immunity to Extreme Speed and boosts Shadow Claw, letting Sneasler take on Extreme Killer Arceus formes and Gholdengo. Grassy Seed, when comsumed, activates Unburden and gives Sneasler an easier time setting up against Pokemon like Zacian. Rillaboom is a required partner for Sneasler, as the Grassy Terrain it sets up activates Sneasler's Grassy Seed, and it can also pivot Sneasler in so it can safely set up to sweep. Sneasler struggles against walls like Giratina and Landorus-T, so Pokemon that can take these threats on like Chi-Yu and Palafin are good to have as partners. Wallbreakers like Kyurem-W and Mewtwo can chip down the opposing team for Sneasler to attempt a sweep late-game.

White Herb allows Sneasler to become a threatening and fast attacker, and Sneasler can activate it with Close Combat or one of the many stat-lowering moves and abilities in the metagame, namely Incineroar's Intimidate and Flutter Mane's Icy Wind. Sneasler's STAB moves threaten a large portion of the metagame, most notably Incineroar and Ogerpon-W. Furthermore, its high Speed allows it to become the fastest Fake Out user in the format, giving it greater advantage in the face of Rillaboom and Incineroar. Dire Claw can be used over Gunk Shot for its ability to cripple foes with status, especially sleep, while being more reliable than Gunk Shot. However, Gunk Shot achieves OHKOs on Rillaboom and Flutter Mane, which can't be done with Dire Claw. Coaching is a strong option for bolstering physical attacking partners, including Hisuian Arcanine and Ogerpon-W, to allow them to sweep; however, losing the utility of Protect can make Sneasler vulnerable to Fake Out. Tera Dragon gives Sneasler many important resistances, most notably letting it take Urshifu-R's Surging Strikes, Raging Bolt's Thunderclap, and Ogerpon-W's and Ogerpon-H's Ivy Cudgel. Tera Stellar gives Sneasler a boost to its STAB moves, notably allowing it to OHKO Rillaboom with Dire Claw, bulky Flutter Mane with Gunk Shot, Ursaluna with Close Combat, and Incineroar with even a -1 Close Combat.

Focus Sash Sneasler aims to eliminate key threats in the metagame such as Kingambit and Rillaboom with powerful STAB options while also outspeeding most Pokemon on the field. Additionally, it provides a supportive role with options like Fake Out and Coaching. Dire Claw and Close Combat are Sneasler's main STAB options, hitting key metagame threats such as Whimsicott and Tyranitar for huge damage, respectively. Fake Out creates openings for allies such as Gholdengo to set up while also breaking Focus Sash on opposing Sneasler before they can move if they do not tread carefully. Coaching boosts the power of physical attackers such as Baxcalibur while also boosting their Defense, allowing them to take more hits from the likes of Incineroar and Garchomp. Protect, on the other hand, can be run to keep Sneasler's Focus Sash intact against opposing Fake Out users and help stall out Trick Room turns, so Sneasler can continue to be the fastest on the field. Focus Sash helps combat Sneasler's frail stature, letting it survive attacks such as Expanding Force from Indeedee-M and retaliate with Close Combat or Dire Claw. Tera Stellar is preferred on Sneasler to let it achieve OHKOs on Rillaboom and Assault Vest Archaludon with Dire Claw and Close Combat, respectively. Tera Ghost is recommended on sets without Protect to avoid Fake Out from foes such as Incineroar and Rillaboom. Jolly is the most common nature on Focus Sash Sneasler, letting it outspeed and OHKO fast Pokemon such as Maushold and Whimsicott. Adamant Sneasler, on the other hand, is able to get the guaranteed OHKO with Dire Claw on Tera Grass or Fairy Volcarona and Primarina. Although Focus Sash allows for more flexibility, this Sneasler variant struggles heavily against Ghost-types like Gholdengo, notably having little to hit them. Focus Sash Sneasler also falls victim to four-moveslot syndrome, oftentimes warranting a need for both Coaching and Protect.

Psychic Seed, Grassy Seed, or White Herb in conjunction with Unburden makes Sneasler the fastest Pokemon in the entire format, outspeeding and KOing top threats such as Maushold and Ursaluna-B, even when they are under Tailwind. On Grassy Seed sets in particular, Acrobatics is commonly run alongside Swords Dance thanks to the opportunities created by an ally Rillaboom's Fake Out, since Rillaboom is a necessary teammate to activate Grassy Seed. Acrobatics notably hits Grass- and Fighting-types such as Amoonguss, opposing Sneasler, and Annihilape. On Psychic Seed and White Herb sets, however, Dire Claw is always the preferred option, as they typically already have partners that threaten Fighting-types such as Indeedee-M. Throat Chop is commonly run on Psychic Seed sets so that Sneasler can threaten huge damage onto the Ghost-types of the format like Gholdengo and Dragapult, as well as Tera Ghost Pokemon like Incineroar or opposing Sneasler; notably, removing Gholdengo allows Indeedee-M to use Expanding Force more freely. Grassy Seed helps leverage Sneasler's Defense stat, letting it take Scale Shot from Dragonite and a +2 Tera Dark Kowtow Cleave from Black Glasses Kingambit. Finally, White Herb is used on Sneasler sets that do not particularly exploit Terrains but still want Unburden's Speed boost. White Herb has the added benefit of negating Attack drops from Intimidate as well as denying Speed drops from Alolan Ninetales's Icy Wind and Electabuzz's Electroweb. Tera Dark, commonly run on Psychic Seed sets, provides a immunity to Psychic-type attacks like Expanding Force from opposing Indeedee-M and boosts the power of Throat Chop, allowing Sneasler to OHKO Basculegion and frailer Gholdengo. Tera Flying is run on Grassy Seed sets and boosts the power of Acrobatics, letting it pick off Rillaboom; it also provides a crucial immunity to Ground-type attacks like Earth Power and Stomping Tantrum from Ursaluna-B and Garchomp, respectively. Tera Ghost is run on both Grassy Seed and White Herb sets, providing notable immunities to Fake Out from the likes of Incineroar and Fighting-type attacks such as Annihilape's Final Gambit and opposing Sneasler's Close Combat. Because Unburden already make Sneasler fast enough, Adamant is run to boost the Attack stat of Sneasler even further, letting Close Combat OHKO Ursaluna-B with slight bulk investment. Unburden sweeper Sneasler is far less flexible than Focus Sash sets, with the Psychic and Grassy Seed sets in particular requiring necessary support in setting up either Psychic or Grassy Terrain. Even with the defensive boosts from the Seeds, Sneasler still ends up missing its Focus Sash due to its naturally poor bulk, getting OHKOed by common super effective attacks. Sneasler also finds itself wanting to stay in a lot despite its frail stature because it would otherwise lose its Speed boosts from Unburden.

With a pair of Heavy-Duty Boots Sneasler can fill a unique role on Poison teams as an incredible offensive pivot, with its high Speed and Attack allowing it to handle targets such as the Ogerpon formes and Iron Treads with ease. U-turn combined with Heavy-Duty Boots will allow it to stay safe throughout the entire game by switching out against a threat to bring in a teammate that can deal with it; in addition, U-turn comes with a 30% chance to poison thanks to Poison Touch, which helps make progress by putting checks to it such as Quagsire and Mandibuzz on timers. Close Combat is a strong nuke against many of the tier's common threats like Hydreigon, Heatran, Kyurem, and Ursaluna. Physically defensive Amoonguss can be brought in on many of the Ground- and Water-types that threaten Sneasler like Great Tusk, Quagsire, and Urshifu-R. Galarian Weezing provides a safe answer to Dragon-types like Garchomp and Dragonite, along with providing Defog support, should Sneasler lose its Heavy-Duty Boots. Toxapex can deal with priority users attempting to pick off a weakened Sneasler such as Scizor and Hisuian Arcanine with its Rocky Helmet and Surf, along with being able to set Toxic Spikes to chip targets such as Hippowdon and Slowbro. Galarian Slowking provides a specially defensive complement to Sneasler by being able to handle threats such as Latios and Iron Moth while safely pivoting back and forth with itwith Chilly Reception; Its Future Sight combined with Sneasler's incredible Close Combat deals immense damage to any foe wishing to tank the hits for its team. Overqwil provides a switch-in against physical Psychic-types like Gallade and Iron Boulder and can set Spikes to wear down targets like Archaludon, which otherwise prove problematic for Sneasler. Glimmora provides support against Flying-types such as Gyarados and Tornadus-T, along with being able to use Corrosion Toxic to wear foes such as Skarmory and Pecharunt down, which would otherwise wall Sneasler. Glimmora also provides Stealth Rock to wear down targets like Greninja and Rotom-W. Iron Moth provides a special attacking complement to Sneasler, as Iron Moth appreciates the removal of special walls such as Blissey and Tyranitar and, in return, can remove physical blockades that impair Sneasler such as Corviknight and Amoonguss.

Unburden allows for Sneasler to become one of the fastest threats in the entire metagame, outrunning Choice Scarf users like Dragapult, Meowscarada, and Flutter Mane with ease. Air Balloon is the held item of choice, not only giving Sneasler a solid Ground immunity to threats like Gliscor and Clodsire, but also forcing them to choose between letting Sneasler set up with multiple uses of Swords Dance or popping Air Balloon so they can hit it with their powerful Ground-type STAB moves. Swords Dance's power boost is crucial in picking off physically bulky threats like Amoonguss, Hatterene, and Great Tusk. Close Combat is the STAB move of choice, hitting hard and breaking threats that attempt to take on Sneasler like Archaludon, Ursaluna, and Corviknight. Throat Chop hits Ghost- and Psychic-types attempting to absorb Sneasler's Close Combats, like Gholdengo, Dragapult, and Latias, hard. For Sneasler's last moveslot, Acrobatics can be used to make the most of Unburden with a strong move capable of breaking through Gliscor, which will attempt to stop Sneasler, while Dire Claw slices through bulky Fairy-types like Primarina, Hatterene, and Clefable. With Sneasler attempting to wallbreak as much as possible, entry hazards from the likes of Clodsire, Overqwil, and Glimmora can provide much needed chip damage against bulkier foes, like Toxapex and Skarmory, that may otherwise be able to take Sneasler on. Clodsire's Earthquakes can soften up walls like Toxapex and Forretress. Overqwil, with its solid offensive stats and part-Dark typing, can eat through Ghost- and Psychic-type threats, like Sableye, Ceruledge, and Metagross, that may attempt to stop Sneasler with their powerful priority moves. It can also weaken physical attackers with Intimidate, giving Sneasler an easier time setting up. Glimmora threatens bulky walls like Toxapex, Skeledirge, and Skarmory with the threat of Corrosion Toxic, putting them on vital timers and making them unable to check Sneasler late-game. Galarian Weezing's immunity to Ground-type attacks from the likes of Great Tusk, Clodsire, and Mamoswine makes it solid for wearing these threats down, and it's further capable of spreading burns with Will-O-Wisp to weaken physical attackers. Galarian Weezing also removes hazards with Defog to help Sneasler set up with as much health as possible. Amoonguss is able to handle strong threats with priority moves, such as Dragonite and Metagross, with Foul Play, which gives solid utility in picking these revenge killers off, and it is also able to put an opponent to sleep with Spore, giving Sneasler a free switch in and turns to set up Swords Dance. Pecharunt with Mean Look can trap physical walls like Skarmory, Galarian Weezing, and Toxapex and wear them down, making it a solid partner. Alolan Muk's strong STAB Knock Off can remove Ghost-types like Choice Scarf Gholdengo, Flutter Mane, and Spectrier. Iron Moth's strong Fire-type STAB move can melt bulky Steel-types like Corviknight and Skarmory, which may otherwise attempt to boost their Defense with Iron Defense to stop Sneasler. Iron Moth also takes out Flying-types like Gyarados and Mandibuzz with Discharge, as they otherwise may try to stop Sneasler with their high bulk and Thunder Wave and Foul Play, respectively. Okidogi appreciates Sneasler blowing through teams and can clean up weakened teams that have few threats, such as Bisharp and Hisuian Arcanine, remaining. This also works in reverse, where Okidogi first punches holes through a team and removes threats like Hisuian Zoroark and Porygon2, leaving Sneasler to clean up the rest.

With Unburden, Sneasler becomes a devastating cleaner for Fighting teams, being able to outpace dangerous Choice Scarf threats like Flutter Mane and Greninja. Air Balloon provides Sneasler with safe entry and grants it a free turn of setup against Ground-types like Great Tusk and Landorus-T, which are forced to enable Unburden if they wish to take down Sneasler. Close Combat easily removes foes such as Ting-Lu and Archaludon after a Swords Dance. Dire Claw deals with Grass- and Fairy-types like the Ogerpon formes and Iron Valiant; at +2, Dire Claw OHKOes Hatterene and Primarina. Acrobatics, once Air Balloon is popped, enables Sneasler to deal significant damage to foes that survive Sneasler's STAB moves such as Great Tusk, Iron Moth, and Dragapult. Alternatively, Throat Chop can be used to remove bulky Ghost- and Psychic-type walls like Gholdengo and Galarian Slowking. Sneasler greatly appreciates entry hazards to wear down foes and remove bulky Poison-types, making Great Tusk an excellent teammate, which can set Stealth Rock to chip down foes that would otherwise take on Sneasler, like Tornadus-T and Focus Sash Ceruledge, and deal with bulky Poison-types like Toxapex and Unaware Clodsire. Iron Valiant can remove physical walls such as Sableye and Hippowdon with Moonblast while dealing with Flying-types like Gyarados and Moltres with Thunderbolt. Assault Vest Gallade pressures bulky Poison- and Fighting-types like Galarian Weezing and Iron Hands along with handling special attackers like Zapdos and Tornadus-T. Keldeo and Urshifu-R can threaten Ground- and Fire-types such as the Landorus formes, Excadrill, and Ceruledge. Assault Vest Iron Hands acts as a bulky tank, capable of taking on Water- and Flying-types such as Primarina, Pelipper, and Tornadus-T, along with providing safe entry for Sneasler with its slow Volt Switch, thus giving Sneasler a chance to set up with Swords Dance. Alternatively, Swords Dance Iron Hands can eliminate bulky Water- and Flying-types like Toxapex, Pelipper, and Corviknight. Assault Vest Okidogi can complement Sneasler as a Poison-type threat, capable of handling targets such as Flutter Mane and Azumarill that Sneasler cannot set up on. In return, Sneasler's great Speed can handle foes such as Enamorus and the Ogerpon formes.

With a Choice Band, Sneasler becomes an incredible attacker for Poison teams, being able to effortlessly remove foes such as Ursaluna, Skarmory, and Iron Hands. Close Combat, when boosted by a Choice Band, decimates Steel- and Dark-types, gaining OHKOs on threats like Archaludon and Ting-Lu and being able to 2HKO Skarmory and Mandibuzz. Dire Claw removes targets such as Primarina and Sinistcha with ease. Throat Chop removes Psychic- and Ghost-types like Latios, Galarian Slowking, Gholdengo, and Dragapult; alternatively, Switcheroo cripples walls such as Toxapex and Sableye, which could otherwise effortlessly handle Sneasler. Finally, U-turn gives Sneasler a solid pivot option. Galarian Slowking pairs excellently with Sneasler, being able to use Chilly Reception to safely pivot Sneasler in against threats such as Latios. It can also use Future Sight, which allows Sneasler to break past physical walls such as Toxapex and Great Tusk. In return, Sneasler can bust through special walls like Blissey and Hisuian Goodra that handle Galarian Slowking. Alolan Muk handles Ghost- and Psychic-types that would threaten Sneasler such as Flutter Mane, Spectrier, and Galarian Slowking. Amoonguss can handle Water-type threats such as Dondozo and Choice Scarf Urshifu-R that would otherwise threaten Sneasler. Galarian Weezing provides a crucial Ground immunity thanks to Levitate, enabling it to take on threats such as Clodsire, Garchomp, and Dragonite. Galarian Weezing can also use Defog to remove entry hazards for Sneasler, preventing it from getting chipped down. Choice Specs Iron Moth can cleanly remove physically bulky threats such as Sinistcha and Okidogi along with handling threats such as Landorus, Gliscor, and Gholdengo. Pecharunt can come in on priority moves from the likes of Scizor and Hisuian Arcanine, threaten them with Foul Play, and then use Parting Shot to safely pivot Sneasler back in. Glimmora can check problematic Flying-types like Moltres and Tornadus-T along with being able to set Stealth Rock to wear down threats such as Gholdengo and Galarian Weezing. Overqwil can provides Spikes support as well as handle Iron Boulder.

Gunk Shot may be preferred over Dire Claw for its ability to OHKO threats like Flutter Mane and Primarina while avoiding contact effects from its foe's abilities such as Zapdos's Static. Finally, Switcheroo can shut down physically bulky walls such as Skarmory and Toxapex, which would otherwise beat Sneasler. Alternatively, Throat Chop allows Sneasler to hit Ghost-type threats such as Dragapult, Spectrier, and Hisuian Zoroark, while Rock Slide removes targets like Volcarona and Iron Moth. With U-turn, Sneasler can easily pivot out to Alolan Muk to take on Psychic-type threats such as Mew, Galarian Slowking, and Hatterene, which Sneasler cannot handle. Similarly, Overqwil can dispatch physical Psychic-type foes like Gallade and Iron Boulder while also providing Spikes, which can allow Sneasler to OHKO targets like Flutter Mane and Ursaluna. Amoonguss provides a solid check to Ground- and Water-type threats such as Great Tusk, Excadrill in sand, and Urshifu-R, which could otherwise handle Sneasler. Galarian Weezing provides a crucial immunity to Ground- and Dragon-type attacks that allows it to easily deal with foes like Hippowdon and Dragonite, use Defog to remove entry hazards, and enable Sneasler to come in safely. Toxapex can easily come in on priority users like Mimikyu, Scizor, and Hisuian Arcanine attempting to revenge kill Sneasler and handle them thanks to a combination of Rocky Helmet and Surf. Pecharunt and Galarian Slowking can provide Sneasler with safe entry by using their pivoting moves like Parting Shot and Chilly Reception, respectively. Pecharunt also provides support by being able to take on opposing physical walls such as Galarian Weezing and Araquanid. Galarian Slowking, meanwhile, can use Future Sight to cripple physical walls attempting to handle Sneasler such as Toxapex and Hippowdon. Glimmora can deal with Flying-types such as Tornadus-T and Zapdos while setting Stealth Rock to help deal with threats such as Latios. Furthermore, Corrosion enables it to use Toxic to wear down targets such as Galarian Weezing and Corviknight, which otherwise wall Sneasler. Iron Moth provides a special attacking complement to Sneasler while being able to deal with physical walls such as Amoonguss and Skarmory. In return, Sneasler deals with special walls that cause Iron Moth trouble such as Blissey and Tyranitar.

By virtue of its already great Speed tier further boosted by Choice Scarf, Sneasler makes for a great speedy threat on Fighting teams. Furthermore, a great ability in Poison Touch allows it to double as a potential status spreader. Dire Claw not only threatens Fairy-types such as Iron Valiant, Enamorus, and Primarina but also makes a consistent way to spread status via its secondary effect alongside Sneasler's ability. U-turn allows Sneasler to bring in a teammate safely while also dealing great damage to Psychic-types like Hoopa-U and Latios. Switcheroo disables walls such as Corviknight, Skarmory, and Archaludon, and thanks to Sneasler's Poison-typing, it doesn't need to fear obtaining Black Sludge from users like Alolan Muk and Toxapex. Alternatively, Rock Slide can be used to target Fire- and Flying-types like Volcarona, Moltres, and Zapdos, which can possibly hinder Sneasler's offensive capabilities due to the former two running Flame Body and the latter running Static. Toxic Spikes improves on Sneasler's status spreading by inflicting incoming foes without protection with poison. However, Switcheroo is the preferred option due to its potential in neutering walls. Great Tusk is a universal teammate for Fighting teams, as it provides Stealth Rock support to wear down incoming foes as well as hazard removal with Rapid Spin so Sneasler doesn't get worn down by Spikes. In return, Sneasler handles Grass-types like the Ogerpon formes, Rillaboom, and Hydrapple. Iron Valiant threatens bulky Fighting-types like Great Tusk with Moonblast as well as a multitude of threats like Pecharunt, Okidogi, and defensive Gyarados with its coverage. It appreciates Sneasler taking out Fairy-types like opposing Iron Valiant, Primarina, and Enamorus in return. Breloom makes for a great partner, as it can immobilize a check to Sneasler like Corviknight and Great Tusk with Spore, and it threatens Ground-types Sneasler dislikes such as Excadrill, Clodsire, and Gliscor. Water-type partners like Keldeo and Urshifu-R not only threaten the aforementioned Ground-types, but they also threaten Fire-types such as Volcarona and Moltres when Sneasler chooses to forego Rock Slide. The two of them appreciate Sneasler's potential status spreading weakening checks like Sinistcha and Dragonite so they can be removed later on. Iron Hands, with its great bulk and coverage, handles Flying-, Water-, and Poison-types such as Tornadus-T, Barraskewda, and Clodsire. Lastly, late-game sweepers such as Hisuian Lilligant and Agility Gallade appreciate Sneasler's ability to threaten Fairy-types and wearing down walls with both its status and Switcheroo so that they can start their own sweeping.

Choice Band Sneasler is Poison's flagship physical wallbreaker, capable of overpowering annoying walls like Corviknight and Rotom-W with ease thanks to its powerful STAB moves. Because of its great Speed tier, it's also able to dispatch a myriad of offensive threats slower than it, such as Mega Gallade and Mega Charizard Y. U-turn grants solid chip damage and allows Sneasler to easily grab momentum over the course of a match thanks to the switches it forces. Throat Chop rounds out Sneasler's coverage well by 2HKOing physically defensive Gholdengo and threatening Psychic teams once they're weakened enough. Alternatively, Switcheroo may be used to render the likes of Toxapex and Gliscor useless, as Sneasler can't do meaningful damage to them. Nidoking is Sneasler's offensive partner in crime: it beats the aforementioned walls Sneasler can't answer, lays down Stealth Rock, and forms a wallbreaking core with it that's able to punch massive holes into slower, bulkier teams. Galarian Slowking is able to safely get Sneasler on the field thanks to Chilly Reception, and its Future Sight support lets Sneasler overpower the opposition more easily. Alolan Muk switches into the Psychic-type attacks aimed at Sneasler from Pokemon such as Tapu Lele, and it helps Sneasler's wallbreaking by weakening the opposition with Knock Off and Pursuit. In a similar vein, Crobat and Galarian Weezing are Ground-immune teammates that blow away entry hazards with Defog, letting Sneasler switch in unscathed.

Sneasler finds a role as Poison's premier Choice Scarf user thanks to its incredible Speed allowing it to outpace opposing Choice Scarf users like Iron Treads and Tapu Lele, as well as its great Attack and movepool. Dire Claw allows Sneasler to potentially inflict status onto threats like Dragonite and Tornadus-T attempting to check it. U-turn allows Sneasler to pivot out of threats that wall it like Great Tusk and Clodsire. Switcheroo messes with opposing walls such as Corviknight and Clodsire, while Rock Slide is a strong option to check threats such as Volcarona and Mega Charizard Y. Nidoking and Sneasler pair excellently together, creating a great offensive core, as Nidoking can set Stealth Rock to provide chip damage and remove targets like Toxapex, Corviknight, and Zapdos that prove problematic to Sneasler, while Sneasler can remove faster threats and special walls such as Kyurem, Enamorus, and Blissey. Galarian Slowking can take on special threats such as Choice Specs Latios and Tornadus-T, along with using Future Sight to pair with Sneasler's Close Combat to deal immense damage to threats. Alolan Muk provides great support by dealing with and Pursuit trapping Ghost- and Psychic-type foes that Sneasler cannot handle such as Blacephalon, Hisuian Zoroark, and Deoxys-S. Crobat provides entry hazard removal and removes targets like Mega Gallade that can cause significant issues. Mega Venusaur can handle Ground- and Water-type threats such as Great Tusk, Hippowdon, Urshifu-R, and Dondozo. Toxapex can handle powerful priority attacks from the likes of Scizor, Hisuian Arcanine, and Mimikyu attempting to pick Sneasler off by punishing their users with Scald burns and removing their boosts with Haze.

Choice Scarf Sneasler is an extremely fast revenge killer that decimates Choice Scarf Tapu Lele, Quark Drive-boosted Iron Valiant, and Adamant Sand Rush Excadrill for Fighting teams. Close Combat and Dire Claw have near-perfect synergy, aside from Dire Claw's ability to punish passive answers—like Toxapex and Slowbro—that swap into its STAB moves. U-turn pivots Sneasler out of switch-ins such as Skeledirge, Aegislash, and Gliscor, bringing in Choice Specs Iron Valiant and Mega Gallade. Switcheroo further punishes walls like Corviknight if the extra speed is unneeded. Alternatively, Rock Slide lets it revenge kill Quiver Dance Volcarona, freeing up a moveslot on Iron Hands, while Toxic Spikes greatly pressure Fairy teams wary of Dire Claw. Night Slash can also be the final move for Sneasler, as it notably hits Gholdengo and Aegislash, but pivoting out of these threats is usually the better option. Choice Scarf Sneasler is a late-game cleaner, so wallbreakers and setup sweepers such as the aforementioned Kommo-o and Mega Gallade are appreciated, as these deal with Corviknight, Gliscor, and Toxapex. Kommo-o also benefits from Sneasler dealing with Fairy-types, as this allows Kommo-o to use Clangorous Soulblaze. Choice Specs Iron Valiant loves being pivoted in safely against physical walls like Skeledirge and Mega Sableye, which wall Sneasler. Assault Vest Iron Hands is a soft check against Gholdengo and Volcarona and can pivot Sneasler in against walls, which it can inconvenience. Hisuian Lilligant and Breloom deal with Gastrodon and Quagsire and also ease the Water and Ground matchups. As with the other setup sweepers, these also love the setup opportunities Sneasler opens up by being able to punish walls with Dire Claw's additional effects or with Switcheroo. Entry hazard support from Cobalion and Great Tusk is also appreciated, and these provide a secondary answer to Mimikyu and Zeraora, respectively. These teammates also appreciate Sneasler's ability to remove Toxic Spikes, greatly easing the matchup against Water and Poison teams.

With Focus Sash, Sneasler can go all-in on high-powered disruption! Shadow Claw: Shadow Claw is Sneasler's most reliable coverage move into Gholdengo, as well as a way to OHKO Calyrex-S. Toxic Spikes: Toxic Spikes is a great support option as a lead, allowing Sneasler to build momentum for its teammates by disrupting bulkier foes. Fake Out: Not only does Fake Out help break Focus Sash and Multiscale, but the free attack gives an extra chance for Poison Touch to activate. Adamant versus Jolly: Running an Adamant nature maximizes power while still outspeeding threats such as Jolly Garchomp. Running a Jolly nature will let Sneasler outspeed up to Jolly Roaring Moon. Other Options Fire Punch: Fire Punch can OHKO maximum HP Scizor, which can otherwise bypass Focus Sash with Technician Dual Wingbeat. Abilities Poison Touch: Poison Touch gives Sneasler extra chances to cripple threats, especially when paired with Fake Out. Unburden: If wanting to maximize your chances of paralyzing or putting a target to sleep with Dire Claw, Unburden should be used over Poison Touch. The extra Speed can also be helpful for turning the tables on speedy foes like Calyrex-S and Miraidon, but Sneasler's Focus Sash is not always in danger of being consumed against more passive Pokemon such as Alomomola. Tera Types Tera Dependency - Low: While there are unique cases where Terastallization is useful, this set tends to do just fine without it. Ghost: Tera Ghost can surprise Extreme Speed Dragonite trying to revenge kill Sneasler, and the boost to Shadow Claw is a big help against Gholdengo. Fighting: Tera Fighting takes Sneasler's strongest STAB attack in Close Combat and pushes it even farther. Stellar: Tera Stellar is a great way to take advantage of Sneasler's diverse offensive options without losing its unique typing. With an Adamant nature, the one-time boost to Shadow Claw guarantees a 2HKO on maximum HP Gholdengo. Poison: Tera Poison is a situational option that gives Dire Claw a much-needed boost, and maintaining Sneasler's original Poison typing will let it absorb Toxic Spikes later if needed.

With its good Speed tier and access to Unburden, Sneasler is one of the most potent cleaners in the metagame. Dire Claw: Dire Claw is Sneasler's preferred Poison STAB move due to its highly disruptive secondary effects, making it a very difficult move to switch into, even for Pokemon that wall it like Dondozo. Swords Dance: While it can be difficult to fit and somewhat risky to go for, Swords Dance allows Sneasler to increase its damage output and clean through teams more reliably. Shadow Claw: Shadow Claw is an option to allow Sneasler to better handle otherwise problematic foes, such as Gholdengo. It's also a guaranteed OHKO vs. Calyrex-S that have not Terastallized. Acrobatics - Acrobatics is a natural pairing with Unburden, providing a massively powerful Flying-type attack once Sneasler's item is used. Fake Out: With a Normal Gem, Fake Out offers both good chip damage and the ability to safely activate Unburden. Other Options Substitute: While it requires sacrificing a STAB attack or coverage move, Substitute helps Sneasler set up on threats such as Thunder Wave Porygon2 and Salt Cure Garganacl, as well as scout for surprise Terastallizations. Throat Chop: A slightly more powerful alternative to Shadow Claw, especially when used with a Dark Tera Type. However, it's more vulnerable to Calyrex-S Terastallizing into a Fairy-type. Tera Types Tera Dependency - Medium / High: While Sneasler's offensive prowess is naturally strong, its average bulk and unique typing can cause serious matchup issues. Terastallization is excellent for patching up both. Flying: Tera Flying gives Sneasler an immunity to Ground-type attacks, allowing it to set up on foes such as Landorus while also boosting the power of Acrobatics even further. If using terrain support, however, be warned that any benefit besides Seed activation will be lost. Ghost: Tera Ghost grants Sneasler an immunity to Extreme Speed, notably allowing it to more consistently beat Dragonite. It does make Sneasler weak to Sucker Punch, but this weakness can be counteracted if using Psychic Terrain support. Ice: When used alongside Tera Blast, Tera Ice allows Sneasler to more reliably beat foes like Landorus-T and Dragonite, and deal massive damage to common Dragon-types such as Koraidon and Miraidon. Items Electric Seed: Electric Seed allows for instant Unburden activation when paired with Miraidon. Keep in mind that Dire Claw will not put grounded foes to sleep while Electric Terrain is active. Psychic Seed: When running Sneasler with Indeedee-M's Psychic Surge support, Psychic Seed allows for instant Unburden activation. The Special Defense Boost also helps against heavy hitters like Flutter Mane and Ursaluna-B. Normal Gem: When combined with Fake Out, Sneasler can activate Unburden efficiently and without extra support. Grassy Seed: Grassy Seed allows for instant Unburden activation when paired with Rillaboom. The Defense Boost and halved damage from Earthquake especially helps against Landorus-T. White Herb: While less easily activated, not relying on a specific move to activate Unburden allows Sneasler to diversify its move selection more, becoming more of a threat. EV Spreads 36 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def / 4 SpD / 212 Spe with Adamant: This EV spread will outspeed up to Timid Choice Scarf Calyrex-S upon activating Unburden, while maximizing attack. The 36 EVs in HP maximize recovery from Grassy Terrain.
