Analysis
This set takes advantage of the combination of Normal Gem-boosted Fake Out and Unburden to reliably allow Sneasler to outpace the entire metagame. Close Combat provides a more accurate option against matchups against Pokemon such as Meowscarada and Hoopa-U. It can also dispatch non-Chople Berry Hisuian Goodra and all but the most Defense-oriented Ursaluna. Gunk Shot hits key metagame threats such as Primarina and Ogerpon-W. Dire Claw's accuracy and chance to inflict crippling status effects provides a reliable STAB move in matchups where Sneasler needs to attack multiple times, such as against stall Zapdos, Diancie, and Whimsicott. Additionally, the second Poison-type STAB option allows Sneasler to reliably take on Encore + Disable Iron Valiant. Feint defeats Encore + Disable Iron Valiant, which can deny Sneasler its Unburden boost by using Protect against Fake Out. Note that Fake Out should still be used if the opposing Iron Valiant does not reveal a Speed Booster Energy set. The priority of Feint can also be used to prevent Custap Berry users, such as Primarina and Urshifu-S, from firing off a move after using Endure. Acrobatics allows Sneasler to take on the mirror matchup most reliably as well as bulkier variants of Volcarona. Adamant is highly preferred over Jolly for crucial damage rolls against Pokemon that Sneasler hits neutrally with its STAB moves such as Hoopa-U and Volcarona. Sneasler falters against Ground-type Pokemon such as Landorus-T and Garchomp as well as bulky stall Pokemon such as Cresselia and Corviknight. Partners such as Alolan Ninetales or Ogerpon-W are capable of handling both.
