Analyse

Moves Water Spout is Remoraid's strongest STAB move when at full health at a whopping 150 Base Power, dealing significant damage to most Pokemon that don't resist it. Whenever Remoraid is below 75% of its maximum HP, it should use Hydro Pump, as Water Spout becomes weaker than it, though it does have a chance to miss. Fire Blast is used to hit the Grass-types that resist Water Spout, namely OHKOing Ferroseed. Bullet Seed is used to smack Water-types such as Staryu, Omanyte, and Kabuto and benefits from LC's multi-hit rolls, as it deals more damage than Seed Bomb usually. Set Details The Special Attack and Speed investment optimize Remoraid's offensive capabilities. Hustle is the ability of choice, as it boosts Remoraid's Attack stat by 1.5x, increasing Bullet Seed's damage output at the cost of its accuracy. A Naive nature boosts Speed without lowering the damage output of Bullet Seed. When paired with a Choice Scarf, Remoraid Speed ties with 17 Speed Choice Scarf users such as Mienfoo and Chinchou and outspeeds everything below them, making it easy for Remoraid to significantly damage teams with Water Spout. Usage Tips Remoraid should always be at full health, as it functions the best when Water Spout is at its most powerful. As such, it should never switch directly into any Pokemon because it risks losing power on Water Spout and being KOed. Rather, it should be brought in safely after a KO or by a slow U-turn or Volt Switch. Furthermore, try to avoid taking damage from entry hazards and status, since they lower the Base Power of Water Spout. Lastly, if the opponent has a Frillish or Croagunk, be careful of locking Remoraid into Water Spout or Hydro Pump, which they're immune to, as this will kill all momentum. Team Options Spinners such as Staryu, Drilbur, and Kabuto remove any entry hazards that damage Remoraid upon switch in, which reduces the power of Water Spout. Slower users of Volt Switch and U-turn can bring Remoraid in safely. Vullaby is a great partner to Remoraid, as it counters Grass-types such as Foongus and Pumpkaboo-XL, can remove Eviolites with Knock Off, can bring Remoraid in safely with U-turn, and can remove hazards with Defog. Grass-types such as Foongus, Pumpkaboo-XL, and Cottonee resist both of Remoraid's weaknesses in Electric and Grass and can deal with Water-types. Entry hazard support from the likes of Onix, Ferroseed, and Dwebble deal chip damage to the foe, allowing Remoraid to net KOs a lot more easily. Knock Off users such as Pawniard, Timburr, and Mienfoo are able to soften up many Pokemon by removing their Eviolites, making it tremendously easier for Remoraid to clean up.
