Analyse
Set Details Knock Off lets Gligar remove Heavy-Duty Boots from Pokemon like Kilowattrel, Chandelure, and Incineroar, increasing the efficacy of its entry hazards. Alternatively, Toxic allows it to pressure defensive tanks like Vaporeon and Swampert. Gligar can run Stealth Rock alongside Spikes, letting it set up multiple hazards. Knock Off is preferred over U-turn if Gligar is running dual hazards. Gligar can run Acrobatics so that if it loses its Eviolite it can hit Fighting- and Grass-types like Flamigo, Heracross, and Amoonguss with a strong STAB attack. 56 Speed EVs allow Gligar to outspeed Adamant Incineroar, while 140 Speed EVs let it outpace Jolly Incineroar and Adamant Decidueye. Tera Water allows Gligar to handle foes like Inteleon, Basculegion-M, Paldean Tauros-W, and Chandelure in a pinch. Tera Ghost lets Gligar double up a spinblocker to Tsareena, whereas Tera Steel lets Gligar check Munkidori, Cinccino, and Goodra in a pinch. Gligar appreciates teammates like Toxicroak and Brambleghast, as they can handle bulky Water-types such as Vaporeon and Swampert. In return, it handles Poison-types like Galarian Slowbro and Overqwil. Gligar pairs well with Wish passers such as Sylveon, Vaporeon, and Florges for recovery, and they allow it to consistently handle physical attackers like Flygon and Toxicroak. Gligar synergizes greatly with other entry hazards setters such as Copperajah, Bronzong, and Duraludon, since they can set hazards. These hazard setters can also form good defensive cores with it, as they can check special attackers like Munkidori, whereas Gligar can handle physical ones such as Toxicroak and Flygon. Similarly, Gligar appreciates more dedicated special walls such as Copperajah, Vaporeon, and Goodra, since they check powerful special wallbreakers like Meloetta, Inteleon, and Sylveon that can overwhelm Gligar. Wallbreakers such as Basculegion-M, Decidueye, and Sylveon appreciate hazard support from Gligar letting them weaken defensive tanks like Amoonguss and Duraludon.
