Analyse
Bulk Up lets Heracross become a threatening setup sweeper and late-game cleaner, capable of taking games with its above-average bulk and great Attack. Knock Off lets Heracross hit Psychic- and Ghost-types such as Galarian Articuno, Munkidori, Chandelure, and Basculegion-M while removing Heavy-Duty Boots from entry hazard-weak foes like Incineroar, Scyther, and Tornadus. Heracross can opt for Earthquake or Megahorn as its final move; Earthquake is coverage for the likes of Klefki as well as Poison-types like Galarian Slowbro, Toxicroak, Overqwil, and Tera Poison users such as Vaporeon and Scrafty. Stone Edge allows Heracross to hit Flying-types such as Tornadus, Altaria, and Scyther, which would otherwise resist its STAB combination. Megahorn, however, gives Heracross a powerful Bug-type STAB move, damaging Fighting resists such as Scream Tail. Leftovers lets Heracross gain extra longevity, while Heavy-Duty Boots can be used on teams that provide little to no entry hazard removal, allowing it to get on the field without taking damage from them. Tera Dragon flips the matchup against Chandelure, Incineroar, and Paldean Tauros-W, but Tera Steel can be used to give Heracross a resistance to Fairy- and Flying-type moves like Moonblast from Sylveon and Brave Bird from Flamigo. Heracross makes for a good pick on offense teams looking for a Fighting-type sweeper that utilizes its typing and stats well. Heracross finds itself weak to common Fairy- and Flying-type attacks from Sylveon, Flamigo, and Scyther. As such, it appreciates teammates able to handle these threats. Rhyperior in particular is an excellent teammate, helping check the Flying-types that Heracross otherwise struggles with, while Duraludon and Copperajah both set up Stealth Rock while checking the Fairy-types that it struggles with. It also benefits from slow pivots like Vaporeon, Bellibolt, and Incineroar, which help get Heracross on the field safely. Heracross appreciates entry hazard support from Gligar and Klefki to help it clean through weakened teams more easily. Heracross's Knock Off synergizes well with the aforementioned entry hazard setters, removing Heavy-Duty Boots from opposing Pokemon and wearing them down via hazard support. Psychic-types like Galarian Articuno, Reuniclus, and Espeon also benefit from Heracross checking the Dark-types that they struggle with. Ambipom and Cinccino benefit from Heracross dealing with foes such as Scrafty and Steel-types including Copperajah and Duraludon, both of which they struggle to deal with.
