However, the recoil cuts into Bewear's longevity, and there is little reason to run it if not running an Adamant nature. Shadow Claw is used to hit Ghost-types like Chandelure, Jellicent, and Cofagrigus super effectively. Earthquake is an option to 2HKO Doublade, which Bewear cannot do with Shadow Claw. However, Earthquake has less crucial coverage than Shadow Claw outside of this purpose. Ice Punch can be used instead of Facade to 2HKO Gligar and should be run alongside Earthquake. Set Details 252 Attack EVs with a Choice Band gives Bewear an immense amount of wallbreaking power. 252 Speed EVs with a Jolly nature allows Bewear to outspeed Pokemon such as Adamant maximum Speed Scizor and Speed tie with Timid Primarina. Fluffy halves the damage taken from contact moves, allowing Bewear to take a wide array of physical attacks. An Adamant nature can instead be used in order to gain extra power, netting some important 2HKOs like Earthquake on Jellicent, but it is not usually preferred due to the significant drop in Speed. Usage Tips Bewear should use Return as much as possible due to its lack of drawbacks compared to Superpower. It should be sent in either on a free switch or on a Pokemon that cannot harm it significantly such as Scizor, Mega Aggron, or Blissey. Bewear should use its coverage moves as little as possible to minimize opportunities for the foe to set up on it. Its coverage moves should primarily be used to damage predicted Ghost-type switch-ins. Try to keep Bewear healthy throughout the game if Pokemon that it needs to check or revenge kill like Scizor and Mega Sharpedo are still in play. Team Options Bewear fits best on bulky offense and balance due to its great physical bulk and wallbreaking capabilities. Pursuit support from Pokemon such as Krookodile and Alolan Muk can help to remove Ghost- and Psychic-types like Jellicent, Chandelure, and Latias, which Bewear struggles with. As an extension to this, Dark-types in general such as Hydreigon and Mega Sharpedo help versus Ghost-types and can allow Bewear to forgo Shadow Claw for Earthquake. Users of U-turn and Volt Switch like Scizor, Hydreigon, and Rotom-C can help to bring Bewear in safely to wallbreak. Specially bulky Pokemon such as Empoleon can help to take attacks from Pokemon like Primarina that Bewear cannot. Wish support from Pokemon like Alomomola and Sylveon, Healing Wish support from Latias, and Heal Bell support from Pokemon like Togekiss and Florges can help to keep Bewear as healthy as possible throughout a match. Stealth Rock support from Pokemon like Swampert, Empoleon, and Nihilego and Spikes support from Klefki both assist in Bewear's wallbreaking capabilities by dealing residual damage to the opposing team. Entry hazard removal support from Pokemon such as Tentacruel, Mega Blastoise, and Starmie can help to prevent Bewear from being worn down by switching into Spikes and Toxic Spikes. Setup sweepers like Scizor, Latias, and Mega Altaria appreciate Bewear's ability to wear down opposing teams so that they can sweep more easily.

Set Details 252 Attack and Speed EVs with a Jolly nature give Bewear as much wallbreaking power as possible while also letting it Speed tie with Timid Primarina and outspeed Adamant Scizor and Jolly Crawdaunt. Normalium Z lets Bewear use a 190-Base Power Breakneck Blitz. Fluffy cuts the damage dealt by contact moves in half, which gives Bewear a good defensive presence. However, it also gives it an artificial weakness to Fire-type attacks. A Life Orb can be used if the team already has a more crucial Z-Move user, but this leaves Bewear unable to reliably break past the majority of defensive Pokemon and also significantly cuts in on its defensive utility, so it is not preferred. Usage Tips Swords Dance is generally most useful when trying to break through bulkier balance or stall teams, as versus offensive teams Bewear is often forced out too easily to make setting up worth it. To elaborate on this, Bewear can set up Swords Dance easily on Pokemon such as Blissey or bulky variants of Scizor. Versus stall teams, Bewear should save its Z-Move for breaking past Quagsire, as it cannot do so otherwise. Versus offensive teams, Bewear should be using Double-Edge as much as possible and expending its Z-Move whenever it is most opportune to get an OHKO in order to break through as many Pokemon as possible before fainting. Bring Bewear in on free switches or versus certain physical attackers like Scizor, Alolan Muk, and Mega Aggron in order to keep its health as high as possible. However, be wary of Scizor's Superpower and Alolan Muk's Fire Blast. If possible, attempt to avoid having Bewear inflicted with status effects, as they severely hinder its wallbreaking capabilities. For example, try not to switch Bewear into Pokemon that are known to use Scald, such as Alomomola and Mantine. If there is a Pokemon that Bewear is able to check on the opposing team such as Scizor or Mega Beedrill, try to keep Bewear as healthy as possible to maximize its usefulness against said threats. Team Options Bewear fits well on bulky offense or hyper offense due to its prowess at wallbreaking and ability to act as a soft check to Pokemon like Scizor. Faster Pokemon and Choice Scarf users like Latias, Infernape, and Hydreigon can deal with the faster threats that Bewear often struggles to take on, and Bewear can also break past the special walls like Blissey and Alolan Muk that fast special attackers have difficulty breaking through. Pursuit support from Pokemon like Krookodile helps Bewear deal with the various Ghost-types like Jellicent that it has difficulty breaking past. Pursuit users also help Bewear by trapping the various fast Psychic-types in the tier like Latias and Starmie that commonly attempt to force out Bewear. Dark-types as a whole, such as Hydreigon and Mega Sharpedo, can also help to deal with Ghost- and Psychic-types. Volt Switch and U-turn users like Rotom-C, Mega Manectric, and Scizor can help to bring Bewear in safely. Klefki makes a good partner for Bewear, since the Spikes support Klefki provides can significantly ease Bewear's attempts to get KOs, and the Thunder Wave support lets Bewear outspeed more Pokemon on offensive teams. Hazard removal support from Pokemon like Starmie and Hydreigon can help to keep Bewear as healthy as possible by removing Spikes and Toxic Spikes that would normally limit Bewear's usefulness. Stealth Rock support from Pokemon like Mamoswine and Nihilego can help Bewear break past teams. Heal Bell support from Pokemon like Mega Altaria and Togekiss can come in handy to cure any troublesome status conditions that Bewear may be inflicted with.

Moves Swords Dance allows Bewear to boost its already good Attack stat to even greater levels, letting it break through walls such as Toxapex and Slowbro. Return is Bewear's Normal-type STAB move and has good coverage in tandem with its Fighting-type STAB move, and when used with Normalium Z, it turns into a 160 Base-Power Breakneck Blitz that lets Bewear take out walls such as Mega Venusaur, Mandibuzz, Swampert, and Toxapex after a Swords Dance boost. Fluffy lets Bewear take contact moves better and check Pokemon like Mega Scizor effectively. Normalium Z turns Return into Breakneck Blitz, letting Bewear wallbreak effectively. Usage Tips Against a bulky team like Poison or Water, Bewear should focus on setting up Swords Dance in order to wallbreak; it can do so against Pokemon that do not threaten it like Alolan Muk. Against offensive types such as Dragon and Electric that lack a strong defensive backbone, it is best to focus on directly attacking more with Bewear, as it will hardly get a safe chance to set up Swords Dance against fast-paced teams. As Z-Moves are one-time use only, be sure not to waste Bewear's Z-Move on any target, as without it, Bewear will find it hard to wallbreak threats like Toxapex, Mega Venusaur, and Slowbro. Bewear is vulnerable to status such as burns and Toxic poison, so it should not be used to recklessly take Scald and should be kept away from Toxic Spikes. To take full advantage of Bewear as a wallbreaker, it needs opportunities to set up and attack and thus should be brought in the battle via aggressive double switches, through U-turn support or after a Pokemon has fainted. Even though Bewear has decent physical bulk thanks to its ability in Fluffy, it should not be directly switched into contact attacks too often and should be kept healthy to prevent threats such as Belly Drum Azumarill and Choice Band Extreme Speed Dragonite from cleaning late-game. Team Options Smeargle is a good partner for Bewear, as it can set up Stealth Rock to score easier KOs, cripple a Pokemon with Spore to provide chances for Bewear to set up Swords Dance, and provide Sticky Web support so Bewear can bypass its low Speed against grounded Pokemon. It can also utilize Nuzzle to slow down faster threats like Mega Diancie and Mega Gallade for Bewear. Diggersby can run a Choice Band set to overwhelm opposing teams with Bewear, as they form a very strong wallbreaking core, weakening down shared checks. Mega Pidgeot takes care of Fighting- and Grass-type Pokemon such as Mega Gallade and Tapu Bulu for Bewear. It also provides U-turn support, letting it come in safely against a predicted switch. If Bewear is not utilizing a Z-Move, then Porygon-Z is a fantastic teammate and an amazing sweeper late-game with its Z-Conversion set. It can take advantage of weakened walls by Bewear and clean late-game effectively, and it also does a good job threatening Psychic teams for Bewear. Ditto is a decent teammate, as it can take care of faster threats for Bewear such as Mega Pinsir, Mega Gallade, and Mega Altaria. Mega Lopunny and Bewear form a Steel-breaking core with Mega Lopunny providing the additional benefit of dealing with Ghost-type Pokemon like Mega Sableye, which Bewear fails to do. It can also act as a revenge killer or cleaner, taking advantage of its high Speed and the wallbreaking potential of Bewear. Staraptor can run a Choice Scarf set to take care of Fighting-type Pokemon such as Kommo-o and Keldeo that are troublesome for Bewear. Defensive Staraptor can use Defog to keep Bewear away from entry hazards like Spikes and Toxic Spikes and act as a sponge for physical attacks for it. Meloetta can run a Choice Specs set to aid Bewear in wallbreaking by taking care of Pokemon such as Hippowdon, Mega Slowbro, and Toxapex. In return, Bewear acts as a Knock Off switch-in to Pokemon like Bisharp and Alolan Muk that threaten Meloetta out.
