Maximum HP can be run to survive full HP, Choice Specs Kyogre's Water Spout after Stealth Rock, but this is a rare situation, and it is generally better to invest into Defense. Blissey works well with teammates that appreciate the utility it provides, which allow them to run more offensive sets. Necrozma-DM is particularly notable, as Blissey covers the offensive Eternatus and Xerneas, which specially defensive Necrozma-DM normally checks. In return, Necrozma-DM can use a Swords Dance or Dragon Dance set to pressure the opposing team while still checking Ice-types. If it is running Thunder Wave, Blissey can get taken advantage of by Pokemon such as Groudon, Zekrom, and Zygarde. As such, checks to these threats such as Buzzwole, Ferrothorn, and Lunala make great partners.

With almost no relevant Ghost-types, Seismic Toss provides good neutral damage against all foes. Heal Bell is an alternative for clerical support but makes Blissey much easier to switch into. Also, teams running Blissey often need Thunder Wave support, so if you run Heal Bell, you should have Thunder Wave elsewhere on your team. Blissey has no problems beating special attackers with uninvested Special Defense, so physical bulk is maximized for staying in against weaker physical attackers like specially defensive Scizor and better taking on Psyshock Alakazam. Coverage moves such as Ice Beam for Gliscor, Garchomp, and Breloom, Thunderbolt to chip Water-types, and Flamethrower for Scizor may also be run if you need to lure them. Blissey fits well on stall and balance teams due to its ability to blanket check special attackers and its great support moveset. Its team must compensate for its physical weakness with solid physical walls such as Tangrowth, Slowbro, and Clefable. Also, a separate check to Alakazam in Scizor, and other priority users like Azumarill, or a faster Pokemon like Weavile or Choice Scarf Dual Chop Garchomp is needed. Gliscor and Starmie provide important entry hazard removal and also beat stallbreaker Heatran. Gliscor makes an especially good partner, as it checks Life Orb Alakazam, blocks Volt Switch, and can check Heatran or almost any physical attacker depending on its set. If you are not running Gliscor, be sure to have a Ground-type to block Volt Switch from Magnezone and the Rotom formes. Sticky Hold Gastrodon is a good option for invalidating Trick from Choice Scarf Rotom-W.

Blissey requires strong physical walls to check the variety of Pokemon that threaten it. Unaware Clefable is a good check to setup sweepers like Azumarill, Feraligatr, and Dragonite, and Gliscor, Slowbro, and Skarmory are effective against Lucario. Tangrowth checks Breloom, in particular, and offers a backup answer to Lucario. Tangrowth and defensive Shaymin help against Water-type wallbreakers Crawdaunt, Feraligatr, and Azumarill. Skarmory is a particularly effective partner, checking Weavile, Mamoswine, Lucario, and Feraligatr, while offering the entry hazard support missing from Calm Mind Blissey. For Choice Band wallbreakers like Infernape, Mamoswine, and Azumarill, Slowbro is an effective check, though it needs a partner that resists Fairy-type attacks like Skarmory to consistently check Azumarill. Gliscor again makes a good partner, offering Defog support and checking Lucario and Infernape, though most variants will get 2HKOed by Choice Band Flare Blitz. Another option would be Poliwrath, which is one of the few true counters to the stallbreaking menace Crawdaunt and a check to Feraligatr. Specially defensive Scizor fills the necessary role of Alakazam switch-in and appreciates not having to endure other special assaults. Other essential support includes an entry hazard remover like Gliscor or Starmie, a Ground-type to keep Volt Switch users from freely gaining momentum, and a Heatran switch-in like like Slowbro or Gliscor. Natural Cure, in conjunction with Heavy-Duty Boots, keeps Blissey healthy from status and entry hazards throughout the match. Physically defensive Pokemon like Slowbro, Cresselia, and Clefable appreciate Blissey's ability to wall strong special attackers such as Dragapult and Latias. In return, these physical walls are able to check physical attackers that threaten Blissey such as Lycanroc-D, Arcanine, and Landorus-T. Strong attackers such as Lycanroc-D, Dragapult, and Latios appreciate Blissey's ability to pivot them in safely with Teleport, which allows them to capitalize on their wallbreaking capabilities. Dark-resistant partners such as Clefable and Dark-type Toxapex are necessary, as Blissey is vulnerable to Knock Off.

Porygon2 can reliably switch into physical attacks from the likes of Landorus-T while also forming a great Teleport core with Blissey, while Braviary provides Defog support for the team and a neutrality to Fighting-type attacks, switching in against foes such as Choice Scarf Heracross. Diggersby is a great wallbreaker, taking care of opposing walls like Ferrothorn and Toxapex that Blissey fails to do much against, while Heliolisk aids greatly in the Water- and Flying-type matchups. Obstagoon provides a Psychic immunity while also threatening Ghost-type Pokemon like Blacephalon and Aegislash, which wall Blissey completely. Ditto deals with setup sweepers such as Volcarona and Aegislash that get the better of Blissey's passivity. Indeedee aids greatly in the Fighting-type matchup and provides a great special wallbreaker for Normal-type teams.

Blissey's enormous special bulk allows it to effectively take on most of the tier's many special attackers, with threats such as Ash-Greninja, Tapu Koko, and Mega Charizard Y all failing to break Blissey. Teleport allows it to safely pivot in teammates like Ash-Greninja, Mega Medicham, and Mega Mawile and take advantage of the many switches that it forces; Blissey's ability to viably hold Heavy-Duty Boots also makes it hard to wear down via entry hazards, unlike its pre-evolution Chansey. Toxic allows Blissey to chip away at threats such as Mega Latias, Slowbro, Landorus-T, and Zapdos. Targeting Mega Latias is especially important, as Blissey is one of the few Pokemon that can reliably come in on it and cripple it in the long term with Toxic. It must be noted, however, that Toxic forces Blissey to use Teleport more often, as it invites Steel-types like Mega Scizor, Corviknight, Aegislash, and Kartana to easily pivot in. Thunder Wave is another good choice for the last move, as it allows Blissey to effectively cripple offensive Pokemon like Mega Mawile and Kartana. It also gives Blissey a weapon against a couple of the select few special attackers that otherwise handily beat Blissey, such as Alakazam, Reuniclus, a reckless Gengar on the switch, and Calm Mind Clefable. Stealth Rock can be run over a status move if your team can't fit a Stealth Rock setter elsewhere, but Blissey is even more passive than normal without Toxic or Thunder Wave and can easily be taken advantage of by threats such as Mega Latias, Corviknight, and Aegislash. Blissey finds its home on balanced and bulky offensive teams. There it should be used to pivot into threats such as Heatran and Ash-Greninja and regain momentum with Teleport while also spreading status. Blissey really hates powerful physical attackers like Garchomp, Mega Lopunny, and Mega Medicham. A physically bulky partner is therefore appreciated. Slowbro and its Mega Evolution are very solid switch-ins to Fighting-type attacks, are capable of checking many of the tier's physical attackers, and can also form a very strong double Teleport core with Blissey. Corviknight effectively rounds out the Slowbro + Blissey core, taking on the likes of Kartana, Mega Scizor, Rillaboom, Weavile, and Mega Tyranitar, as well as offering Defog support and additional pivoting support with U-turn. Zapdos is another option that meets the previously mentioned positives bar checking Weavile and Mega Tyranitar, and it can also provide pivoting support with Volt Switch if desired. Toxapex can also handle Mega Lopunny and can beat other powerful physical attackers that Blissey dislikes like Mega Scizor and Mega Mawile. Blissey's Teleport makes it a very solid pivot, which is appreciated by Pokemon like Mega Medicham, Greninja, and Weavile. The latter two are also capable of revenge killing Gengar, a special attacker that completely shuts down Blissey, with Weavile in particular heavily limiting additional threats such as Mega Medicham with Pursuit. Physically defensive Ho-Oh forms a strong defensive backbone with Blissey, as it is able to check some of Ho-Oh's threats in Kyogre and Xerneas, and Ho-Oh can check Steel-types such as Zacian-C, Ferrothorn, and defensive Necrozma-DM. Necrozma-DM itself is also an excellent Pokemon to pair with Blissey for its high Defense and Prism Armor allowing it to take on Zacian-C. Pokemon that are revenge killed by Choice Scarf Kyogre, specifically Zacian-C and Groudon, will appreciate Blissey's ability to switch in and immediately force it out; with Teleport, Blissey can maintain momentum. Blissey also pairs well with Pokemon that struggle against Eternatus such as Zygarde-C, Kyogre, and Yveltal, as it can sponge its attacks and Toxic with Natural Cure while potentially burning through Recover PP with Seismic Toss. Blissey struggles against the likes of Marshadow and Zygarde-C, so a strong Fairy-type partner in Xerneas or Zacian-C is quite useful.

While Blissey's sheer special bulk may make it seem like it can be an ironclad check for every special attacker in the tier, there are multiple foes that Blissey must not switch into before confirming the moveset. Various special attackers have methods to exploit Blissey's abysmal Defense, with examples of these including Yveltal with Knock Off, Lunala with Psyshock, and Primal Kyogre, which usually uses physical sets. Due to Blissey's passivity, it is unlikely that it will be given a safe chance to recover once it has been lured and heavily damaged. Have other teammates scout these foes first and determine if Blissey will be a better switch-in after analyzing their movesets. If there are foes like Z-Geomancy Xerneas and Calm Mind Arceus formes packing Refresh that can only be checked by Blissey, decide which foe Blissey will check with Confide; Confide does not have enough PP to keep up with more than one setup sweeper and wasting PP will lead to the likes of Arceus-Dark, Arceus-Flying, and Primal Kyogre having enough power to pressure Blissey to a harder degree. Confide's PP is identical to Calm Mind's PP, and it will have just enough PP to neuter Xerneas with Geomancy, so never waste it when a foe is unboosted. Blissey is also threatened by Pursuit users like Marshadow and Tyranitar, which can weaken it to the point where it can no longer safely switch into powerful special attackers it is obligated to check. There are not many ways to determine potential users of Pursuit, and this serves as another reason why Blissey shouldn't recklessly switch into attacks too early on. Note that being able to switch out of trappers doesn't give Blissey a reason to justify staying in against them. Mega Gengar and Gothitelle will carry Taunt to shut down Blissey, and Dugtrio will overpower Blissey with its attacks. Team Options Blissey's most important partners on defensive teams are physically defensive Pokemon and entry hazard removers. Physical walls and Blissey can work together to check a significant portion of the tier, and Defog users prevent Blissey from getting overwhelmed by residual damage. Giratina boasts colossal physical bulk to check many foes that threaten Blissey, such as physical Primal Kyogre, and can provide Defog support. Its ability to spread status is especially helpful to Blissey if it forgoes Toxic for other utility moves. Giratina benefits from Blissey's Heal Bell and Wish, as they reduce Giratina's need to rely on Rest to stay healthy. Giratina's Pressure helps Blissey and its other teammates outlast the other team by limiting their PP. Mega Sableye, while not as durable as Giratina, can provide a different form of hazard control with Magic Bounce, which punishes passive Pokemon like Ferrothorn and Skarmory that attempt to take advantage of Blissey. It can check certain physical attackers like Marshadow and Extreme Killer Arceus and punish various Steel-types with Will-O-Wisp. Mega Sableye's ability to check Mega Mewtwo Y is also noteworthy, as Blissey cannot stand against it due to Psystrike. Both Giratina and Mega Sableye can switch into Fighting-type attacks for Blissey and appreciate it checking Xerneas and many special attackers. Support Arceus formes and Ho-Oh can also check certain physical attackers and provide Defog support. Various Arceus formes have an option to invest defensively to blanket check Marshadow and function as better checks to Primal Groudon, Ho-Oh, and Mega Salamence. The likes of Arceus-Dark and Arceus-Ground can serve as good checks to Necrozma-DM, which harshly punishes Blissey after it takes away momentum. Arceus-Dark's ability to prevail against Shadow Tag trapping and check Yveltal, Mega Mewtwo Y, and Ultra Necrozma is especially notable, as defensive teams do not have many ways to counteract them. Their effectiveness as a pivot is generally improved with Blissey's Heal Bell and Wish. Ho-Oh can pivot into various support Arceus formes without worrying too much about status or taking heavy damage thanks to Regenerator and can spread various status, and this enables Blissey to opt for a different utility move over Toxic. In an the event where Blissey has to conserve its PP for Soft-Boiled and Heal Bell, Ho-Oh can pivot into support Arceus formes and Xerneas. Primal Groudon can benefit from Heal Bell and Wish and can make up for Blissey's complete passivity with its offensive presence and access to Stealth Rock. Its ability to be a check to Xerneas and Primal Kyogre is notable as well, as Blissey isn't too much of a consistent check to them. Lugia can check various setup sweepers thanks to Multiscale and can phaze them in a pinch. Lugia also enjoys Blissey's cleric support and ability to pivot into support Arceus formes, which will typically attempt to cripple Lugia with Toxic. Entry hazards can prevent Steel-types from liberally switching into Blissey. While Blissey can run Stealth Rock of its own, its poor matchup against other entry hazard users make them considerable in many instances. Ferrothorn simultaneously checks Primal Kyogre and sets Spikes, which quickly wears down Steel-types like Necrozma-DM. Skarmory can set the same entry hazards and, unlike Ferrothorn, serves as a solid check to Necrozma-DM, Mega Salamence, and the majority of physical attackers and has an option to avoid trapping by holding Shed Shell. Toxapex checks Fighting-types like Marshadow and Mega Lucario and can set Toxic Spikes to significantly reduce grounded foes' longevity. Giratina-O benefits from cleric and Wish support as well, differentiating itself from Giratina with its better offensive presence. It serves as a more reliable check to Primal Groudon and provides Defog support. Despite Blissey's lack of concern towards Shadow Tag users, Pursuit trappers like Tyranitar and Alolan Muk can be used to remove Mega Gengar for other teammates that may be vulnerable to trapping and handle troublesome attackers like Lunala, Deoxys-A, and Mega Mewtwo Y. These Pokemon can provide other utility options apart from trapping: Tyranitar can provide Stealth Rock support and check Flying-types like Yveltal and Ho-Oh, which defensive teams lack consistent switch-ins to. Alolan Muk can spread poison with Poison Touch and remove other passive Pokemon's Leftovers to reduce their longevity.

Moves Soft-Boiled is Blissey's primary way of recovery, restoring 50% of its maximum health and allowing Blissey to remain healthy throughout the match. Seismic Toss is used for reliable damage but comes at the cost of being unable to hit Ghost-types. Psywave is an option that does variable damage and can be used over Seismic Toss due to the ability to hit Ghost-types, notably Lunala and Arceus-Ghost. However, it cannot hit Dark-types such as Darkrai and Weavile. Toxic is used to wear down opposing threats, chipping them over time. Confide is an option to counteract special setup sweepers that do not mind Toxic by reducing their Special Attack such as Cameruptite Magearna and Substitute Calm Mind Lunala. Heal Bell allows Blissey to act as a cleric and provide team support by curing status. Stealth Rock is an option to chip opposing threats. Wish can be run over Soft-Boiled along with Protect in the last slot to provide team support through large passing recovery, yet it makes Blissey more passive. Set Details 252 HP EVs combined with 252 Defense EVs allow Blissey to avoid the 2HKO from the majority of physical attackers in the tier. 4 Special Defense EVs are used to take on special threats better, such as Red Orb Raikou. A Relaxed nature is selected along with 19 Speed IVs to further increase Blissey's Defense while allowing it to underspeed Sablenite Magearna to prevent it from pivoting freely with Volt Switch. Natural Cure is the ability of choice prior to Mega Evolving to allow Blissey to remove status in the case it becomes afflicted with status before Mega Evolving. If Psywave is run, Healer should be the ability, as Psywave is illegal with Natural Cure. Usage Tips Mega Evolving early is important to not only increase Blissey's bulk but also gain Magic Bounce to prevent Stealth Rock and status moves. Keep Blissey healthy throughout the game to allow it to stop opposing threats such as support Primal Groudon and Ho-Oh. As Blissey is fairly passive, try not become overreliant on it to stop threats, as it may eventually be used as setup fodder by the likes of Swords Dance Primal Groudon and Howl Entei. Confide allows Blissey to beat opposing Calm Mind users that do not mind Psywave or Seismic Toss, notably Calm Mind + Refresh Arceus formes, but it should be used only after they use Calm Mind. Against bulkier teams, Heal Bell can ensure a healthy team and increase longevity. Utilize Toxic to wear down offensive threats such as Landorus-T and Darkrai and put them on a timer, but be wary of opposing magic bouncers. If Wish is run, large amounts of recovery can be passed to teammates such as Primal Groudon and Altarianite Zygarde. Team Options Aggronite Buzzwole is a premier teammate that provides a physical wall to stop many threats that Blissey cannot, such as Dragon Dance Zygarde and Swords Dance Necrozma-DM. Blissey helps Buzzwole out by checking special attackers. Likewise, Aggronite Mew can provide similar support along with Will-O-Wisp to cripple many physical attackers. Manectite Mew can also act as a blanket check to many physical attackers. Venusaurite and Manectite Zapdos check many physical attackers and appreciate Blissey's ability to prevent Stealth Rock. Venusaurite Gliscor and Arceus-Ground can keep Primal Groudon and Terrakion in check, two threats that heavily threaten Blissey. Arceus-Fairy and Altarianite Zygarde are solid teammates to help keep Terrakion and Darkrai in check, both of which can overpower Blissey. Ditto is a fantastic teammate to discourage setup sweepers from setting up, neutering one of the primary ways to beat Blissey.

Blissey is an alternative to Chansey that, while less bulky, can use Shed Shell to escape from Mega Gengar. It also has a usable Special Attack stat that allows it to use Flamethrower to deal decent damage to Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor and Ice Beam to hit Mega Salamence, Garchomp, and Landorus-T. This higher Special Attack also means that Leftovers is a reasonable choice if Mega Gengar is not an issue, in addition to freeing up usage of Eviolite for another team member such as Porygon2. Overall, though, Chansey is a better pick if your team has little to no issues with Mega Gengar or Steel-types.

Moves Wish recovers Blissey's HP and can be used to heal its teammates as well. Thunder Wave allows Blissey to cripple opposing sweepers with paralysis, making it more difficult for them to sweep. Protect allows Blissey to stall out the foe with Toxic and heal itself safely with Wish. Soft-Boiled gives Blissey reliable recovery, prolonging its presence on the field. Seismic Toss gives Blissey some offensive presence and will break Substitutes if the foe's maximum HP stat is less than 404. Heal Bell lets Blissey act as a cleric, while Toxic can be used to put a timer on opposing sweepers and defensive Pokemon. Alternatively, Stealth Rock can be used to punish opposing switch-ins, allowing Blissey's teammates to sweep more easily. There are several combinations of Blissey's viable moves outside of the slashes seen here. However, every Blissey needs a recovery move and Seismic Toss in order to stay alive longer and not be completely shut down by Taunt, respectively. Set Details Full investment in HP and Defense and a Bold nature maximize Blissey's physical bulk and allow it to pass the largest Wishes possible to its teammates. Natural Cure allows Blissey to cure itself of status simply by switching out, and Leftovers provides Blissey with passive recovery. Usage Tips Blissey's main jobs are tanking special attacks and spreading status. Switch out if the opponent sends in a physical attacker; Blissey can take a few physical hits if need be, but it shouldn't be if it doesn't have to. Pokemon holding Lum Berry and Substitute users are major problems for this set, as they can get past Blissey's Toxic and get free turns. Seismic Toss may provide Blissey with some offensive potential, but it remains serious Taunt bait. Be cautious when trying to pass Wishes to teammates with low health, as the opponent can recognize this and KO the intended recipient. Moreover, as Roar and Whirlwind hit through Protect, Blissey can easily be phazed out when attempting to heal itself with Wish. Team Options A dedicated physical wall can deal with the physical attackers that give Blissey trouble. Nidoqueen, for example, makes a good partner, because it covers Blissey's Fighting-type weakness. Chesnaught and Arcanine make passable partners as well. Entry hazard removal is necessary, as Taunt users and physical attackers easily force Blissey out, and you will be switching Pokemon around a lot in order to keep passing Wishes, provided Blissey is running Wish. Donphan and Forretress are great Rapid Spinners that double as physical tanks. As Blissey will force a lot of switches itself, an entry hazard setter makes a good partner. Empoleon can both set and remove entry hazards, making it a prime choice. A Taunt user will help against Pokemon with Substitute and phazing moves; Tornadus's Prankster Taunt makes it a good option. You also need teammates that Blissey can support; you can pair it with nearly any setup sweeper in order to keep said sweeper healthy. Good setup Pokemon that it can support include Haxorus, Mega Absol, and Lucario.

Moves Toxic puts a timer on Arceus formes, Ho-Oh, Groudon, Mega Salamence lacking Refresh, Mewtwo, and other Pokemon Blissey walls. Seismic Toss deals consistent damage so that Blissey is not entirely Taunt bait. Ice Beam is an alternate option that prevents Refresh Mega Salamence from freely setting up, as well as forcing Mega Gengar to use Destiny Bond if Blissey has Leftovers instead of Shed Shell. Snatch allows Blissey to beat Calm Mind Refresh Arceus formes and is more reliable against Geomancy Xerneas; Snatch also blocks Recover from support Arceus formes. Wish and Protect work together to grant reliable recovery, while allowing Blissey to pass massive Wishes to its teammates thanks to a huge HP stat. Protect can also help Toxic stall and scout for lure moves. Soft-Boiled can be used instead of Wish, as it will condense Wish and Protect into one slot for reliable recovery at the cost of making Blissey unable to heal teammates. With the remaining slot, Heal Bell should be used, as it offers cleric support by clearing a team's status conditions. Set Details Maximum Special Defense investment makes the best of Blissey's high special bulk. 252 Defense EVs allow Blissey to survive some weaker physical hits. The remaining 4 EVs are placed in Speed, because additional power is not needed and 0 HP EVs gives Blissey an odd HP value so that it takes less damage from entry hazards; additionally, Blissey's already high HP stat makes HP investment less efficient. Shed Shell is the primary item choice and lets Blissey escape from Shadow Tag users. Leftovers can be used with Ice Beam, as it offers nice passive recovery and Blissey does not become complete Mega Gengar bait with Ice Beam. If using Leftovers, 20 HP EVs should be taken out of Defense to hit an HP value that is divisible by 16 to maximize passive recovery. 248 HP / 8 Def / 252 SpD is a viable alternative spread that gives Blissey maximum special bulk, but this comes at the cost of making Blissey extremely physically frail. Natural Cure allows Blissey to function as a status absorber by switching into status and pivoting to a teammate, removing the status condition at no cost. Usage Tips Aggressively switch into and sponge hits from special attackers that Blissey can wall, such as Xerneas, Dialga, Kyurem-W, Palkia, and most Arceus formes; however, Primal Kyogre should be avoided because it can overwhelm Blissey with Calm Mind and Origin Pulse. Capitalize on forced switches by spreading Toxic, passing a Wish, or clearing status with Heal Bell. Play carefully around potential physical Fighting-type moves from lures, so scout with Protect as needed. Avoid giving opposing Pokemon free turns by using Protect blindly, however. Try to keep Blissey healthy to avoid being 2HKOed later on in the game, especially because entry hazards tend to wear down Blissey. Team Options Physical walls are vital partners for Blissey, because Blissey gives free switches to physical attackers such as Primal Groudon, Mega Salamence, and Ho-Oh. Blissey is susceptible to all entry hazards and can be worn down easily, so users of Defog and Rapid Spin make for good partners. Support Arceus formes can use Defog, burn physical attackers, and appreciate cleric support; good partners specifically include Arceus-Ghost, which is immune to Fighting and checks physical attackers such as Mewtwo, Extreme Killer Arceus, and Mega Kangaskhan while Blissey checks opposing Arceus-Ghost; Arceus-Water, which soft-checks Ho-Oh and Mega Salamence; and Arceus-Rock, which counters Ho-Oh and checks Yveltal. Checks to Fighting-types, such as Ho-Oh, Latias, Latios, and Giratina formes, are good teammates for Blissey. Finally, Pokemon that lack reliable recovery of their own, such as Klefki, Diancie, and Tyranitar, appreciate the Wish support that Blissey provides.

Unparalleled special bulk, an advantageously low Speed tier, and only one weakness make Blissey a highly effective support Wonder Guard Pokemon. Nearly unique among Wonder Guard users, Blissey's incredible Special Defense allows it to both Imposter-proof a variety of powerful special Mold Breaker teammates and to check opposing special Mold Breaker foes. Baton Pass takes advantage of Blissey's low Speed, notably underspeeding other common slow pivots like Xerneas, Primal Kyogre, and Mega Scizor. King's Shield is an alternative that allows Blissey to utilize Wish more effectively and scout foes; an EV Spread of 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD with a Bold nature should be used on sets with King's Shield, as otherwise Blissey is OHKOed even by many -2 physical attackers. Defog and Aromatherapy are appreciated by nearly all Pure Hackmons team structures; however, if a teammate is carrying either one, Blissey can opt for other utility moves such as Stealth Rock, Knock Off, and Whirlwind. Knock Off and Whirlwind, in particular, are useful options, as they allow Blissey to more effectively check and Imposter-proof many powerful special Mold Breaker users. Knock Off deprives Plate + Judgment users like Mega Diancie, Dialga, and Mega Gengar lacking Secret Sword of their STAB move, while Whirlwind can force out special Mold Breaker users that require multiple boosts to break through Blissey. Additionally, Knock Off can helpfully deprive non-Wonder Guard foes, as well as most Psychic- and Ghost- type Wonder Guard foes, of their Shed Shells, Safety Goggles, and other critical items. On some teams, this utility is so valuable that Blissey can forgo Baton Pass or King’s Shield to be able to make use of three utility moveslots. Additionally, powerful special Mold Break sweeprs, such as Choice Specs Mega Mewtwo Y lacking Psystrike and Choice Specs Mega Rayquaza, appreciate Blissey's ability to efficiently Imposter-proof them. Furthermore, Blissey is a particularly good teammate for special Shell Smash + Mold Breaker teammates that aren't making use of a Plate for Imposter-proofing, such as Mega Latios without Psystrike and Moonblast Mega Diancie, which are otherwise very difficult to Imposter-proof. Blissey's vulnerability to physical attackers means it appreciates teammates such as physically defensive Wonder Guard users like Mega Scizor and Cresselia, as well as Prankster Giratina. Furthermore, Blissey and Giratina have great overall synergy; Blissey can tank powerful special Fairy- and Ghost-type attacks from the likes of Mega Diancie and Mega Gengar for Giratina, while Giratina can switch into Fighting-type attacks and powerful physical Mold Breaker foes for Blissey. Blissey also appreciates Magic Bounce teammates for their ability reflect entry hazards, as Blissey prefers to take as little chip damage as possible to more effectively check special Mold Breaker foes. Finally, Pursuit users like Huge Power Mega Gyarados are excellent teammates for their ability to trap and threaten Giratina, one of Blissey’s most common switch-ins. Mega Gyarados, in particular, is an excellent teammate for the additional utility of being able to revenge kill Primal Groudon. Similarly, revenge killers like Refrigerate Kyurem-B and Pixilate Mega Diancie are notable teammates for their ability to force out Mega Gengar and Mega Latios, some of the most common users of Secret Sword and Psystrike, respectively.

Blissey is the only Pokemon in Ubers other than Chansey who can wall such a wide variety of special threats such as Palkia, most variants of Dialga and Kyogre, non-Specs Reshiram, most Calm Mind Arceus, and Lugia. Seismic Toss is generally the most reliable attacking move, as it dents bulky Pokemon and offensive Calm Mind Kyogre, who will otherwise laugh at Blissey's pathetic attacks. Ice Beam is still a viable move, as some common Blissey switch-ins, such as Groudon, Zekrom, Garchomp, and Rayquaza, hate it. Toxic complements this set well, as the combination of Protect and Wish can very easily stall Pokemon to death. Toxic can also be used to cripple several threats, such as Kyogre, Darkrai, and Giratina-O, on the switch-in. Snatch can be used to steal support moves from the likes of Arceus, and allows Blissey to beat Calm Mind Arceus-Dark, a deadly threat to stall, by poisoning it with Toxic and then preventing Arceus from using Refresh with Snatch. Heal Bell can be used over Protect if your team needs a Wish passer as well as a cleric. Heal Bell also saves Blissey from opposing Toxic Spikes. While Leftovers is generally the preferred option, Shed Shell is still a viable alternative because of Wobbuffet, who can trap Blissey and eliminate it using a combination of Tickle and Encore when paired with a Pursuit user. Blissey is the best Wish passer in the Uber tier, and it is a good teammate for Pokemon that appreciate Wish. Defensive Groudon in particular enjoys Wish support since it lacks a recovery move. A few other Pokemon, such as Choice Specs Kyogre and Forretress, also love Blissey's Wish passing capabilities. Palkia pairs up quite well with Blissey, and can KO most Pokemon capable of threatening her, such as Choice Specs Kyogre and Reshiram. Most physically bulky Pokemon, such as Groudon, Ferrothorn, Lugia, and Skarmory, can act as good teammates. Forretress deserves a special mention thanks to its ability to set up all types of entry hazards, especially Toxic Spikes. Two layers of Toxic Spikes on the field makes Blissey's job much easier, allowing her to stall out opposing Pokemon with aplomb. Blissey can act as a good counter to specially-oriented Scarf users such as Palkia and Reshiram. With her huge special bulk, Blissey will have no problem sponging special moves and healing with Soft-Boiled. However, one needs to be a wee bit cautious, since Scarf users such as Palkia often carry physical moves to destroy a weakened Blissey. Since most wallbreakers laugh at Blissey, make sure to pack checks for them lest they are able to stop Blissey. Choice Specs Kyogre can easily deal with both Heatran and Giratina-O, two common Ubers wallbreakers, thanks to its incredibly powerful Water Spout, which easily OHKOes Heatran and has a small chance of KOing Giratina-O factoring in Stealth Rock damage.

This set is the standard frustrating wall, providing a full stop to almost any special attacker. However, despite its complete mastery of all special attacks, most physical attackers can effectively drop-kick it into next week, especially Fighting-types. Toxic allows Blissey to actually deal damage, although the time limit means it will be slightly difficult to ensure a win thanks to its slow damage. Soft-Boiled recovers HP to make Blissey effectively invincible. Seismic Toss hits Steel-types and stops Blissey from being complete Taunt bait, while Protect prevents damage for a turn, which is really useful for Blissey thanks to its tendency to be easily KOed by most strong physical attacks. A Calm nature allows Blissey to take on especially powerful special attackers, especially rain teams, but a Bold nature gives a very small benefit to Defense, which can come in handy against weaker physical attackers. More Special Defense EVs are unnecessary, as Blissey already has a ridiculous amount of special bulk, and the Defense EVs allow it to take as many physical hits as possible. Blissey is useful for checking special attackers and annoying rain teams (bar Toxicroak and Scizor). It's not an exaggeration to say that Blissey can win the match even if your opponent has four Pokemon on their side and Blissey is your last one left, if all opposing Pokemon are special attackers. Intimidate users, such as Gyarados and Hitmontop, Follow Me or Rage Powder users, such as Amoonguss and Togekiss, Psychic-type attackers, such as Latios and Reuniclus, and Ghost-types with Will-O-Wisp, such as Sableye, Dusclops, and Dusknoir, are really really good partners in a stalling combination, as they can take care of most of the Pokemon that plague Blissey. Prankster Taunt users can also prove useful, as Blissey is completely shut down by opposing Taunt. Thundurus is especially useful, and excels in taking out Gyarados, which commonly carries Taunt. Sableye is also doubly useful, with Will-O-Wisp to neuter physical attackers. The primary reason to use Blissey over Chansey is the ability to use an item: Chople Berry allows Blissey to take Fighting-type attacks with relative ease, while Leftovers allows it to take repeated hits from strong attackers without faltering far more easily than Chansey, despite Chansey's greater defenses.

Blissey makes for an excellent support Pokemon with her enormous HP, Special Defense, and movepool. Aromatherapy is useful for removing poison from members of more defensive teams and removing paralysis from those of more offensive ones. Soft-Boiled gives Blissey a reliable recovery move and allows her to survive hits throughout the battle. Toxic is Blissey's main means of dealing damage to foes, as her offensive stats aren't great. Seismic Toss lets Blissey deal consistent and reliable damage to everything excluding Ghost-types. Flamethrower can be used to hit Steel-types such as Ferrothorn, which might try to set up hazards, or Excadrill, which might attempt to set up a Swords Dance or two. Shed Shell enables Blissey to escape the wrath of Chandelure, a Pokemon that can switch into her with impunity and freely set up with Substitute and Calm Mind. If your team is able to lure in and defeat Chandelure with ease, feel free to use Leftovers. The EV spread maximizes HP and Defense because Blissey can easily take special attacks even without investment. An EV spread of 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD with a Bold nature is a viable alternative if you don't want to invest in Blissey's enormous base HP stat; this spread also lets Blissey avoid a 2HKO from Choice Specs Politoed's Hydro Pump in the rain and from a Flash Fire-boosted Fire Blast from Heatran in the sun. If your team needs a Stealth Rock user, Blissey can run the move in the third moveslot. Teammates that can take on Fighting-types make for good partners; notable examples include Gliscor, Slowbro, and Jellicent. Slowbro and Jellicent can also check Keldeo, one of the few special attackers that can defeat Blissey without resorting to Trick. Entry hazard users, such as Ferrothorn, Forretress, and Tentacruel, are also good teammates for Blissey, who forces many switches. In particular, Tentacruel is a fantastic teammate, as the Toxic Spikes it provides can let Blissey stall out opponents. Additionally, Tentacruel checks Keldeo and can take on Fighting-types with its Poison typing and decent bulk.

Blissey makes for an excellent Wish user due to her high HP stat and excellent bulk. Wish is mandatory for healing Blissey and her teammates. Protect is useful to guarantee Wish recovery and scout for Trick, Knock Off, and Fighting-type STAB moves, all of which greatly threaten Blissey. However, Blissey can use Soft-Boiled instead to increase her walling capabilities. Toxic is Blissey's main method of dealing damage to foes, as her offensive stats are mediocre. Seismic Toss is useful to deal consistent damage to all Pokemon bar Ghost-types, while Flamethrower lets Blissey take down Steel-, Grass-, and Bug-types, such as Ferrothorn, Breloom, and Genesect. Shed Shell is the item of choice, as it prevents Blissey from being setup bait for Substitute + Calm Mind Chandelure. If your team deals with Chandelure quite easily, then feel free to run Leftovers. The EV spread maximizes HP to make Blissey's Wishes more effective. Maximum Defense investment enables Blissey to take all but STAB Fighting-type physical moves. An EV spread of 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD can be used if you're not concerned with passing enormous Wishes to your teammates; one of the benefits of this EV spread is the ability to avoid 2HKOs from Modest Choice Specs Politoed's Hydro Pump and Heatran's Flash Fire-boosted Fire Blast in the sun. Any sturdy physical wall, such as Slowbro, Gliscor, Amoonguss, or Skarmory, makes for a decent partner to Blissey. Skarmory gets a special mention because of its ability to set up Spikes for Blissey, who in turn can force many switches with her excellent bulk. Similarly, other entry hazard setters, including Ferrothorn and Forretress, also pair well with Blissey.

This set is very similar to Wish Blissey, but it forgoes the supportive nature of Wish and Protect in exchange for Soft-Boiled, which frees up an extra moveslot for Blissey. Blissey should use 4 HP / 252 Def / 252 SpD with a Calm nature on all sets, as Blissey needs to be extra durable to take the powerful assaults of Ubers. Aromatherapy can be especially useful in Ubers for a number of reasons. Thunder is one of the most common moves used in the Uber tier, and with it comes a 30% chance of paralysis which can ruin the many sweepers of the tier. Darkrai is also a huge threat in Ubers, and can often cripple a Pokemon for the entire match with Dark Void due to the fast paced nature of Ubers. With that being said, many of Aromatherapy Blissey's best teammates are powerful or game changing Pokemon who are very vulnerable to status effects. A good example of this is Wobbuffet. When Wobbuffet is using Encore to either destroy a wall with the Tickle + Pursuit user combination, or just trying to set up a sweeper, Wobbuffet will often get hit by Toxic or Will-O-Wisp, cutting down its survivability. Blissey's Aromatherapy can remove Wobbuffet's status affliction, allowing Wobbuffet to do its job of removing Choice Scarf Pokemon more easily. Another good teammate is a Quiet mixed Dialga. While mixed Dialga will easily destroy Giratina with Draco Meteor, Giratina can use Will-O-Wisp to destroy Dialga's chances of breaking through Latias and Blissey. With your own Blissey's Aromatherapy, Dialga can once again be a powerful wallbreaker. Finally, Lugia works very well with this particular Blissey. This is because Lugia, when trying to beat Groudon, can often be hit by Thunder Wave and Toxic, meaning it will be unable to harm the team with the combination of Whirlwind and entry hazards for much longer. Thanks to Blissey's Aromatherapy, Lugia can once again wear down teams with Whirlwind. Generally, Aromatherapy Blissey does very well with sweepers that can be crippled by Paralysis and Burn. When using Blissey in Ubers, Forretress should always be considered for the purpose of laying down Toxic Spikes and Spikes. This is because Blissey will force a lot of switches on the opponent's side due to many Uber Pokemon focusing on special attacks. Toxic Spikes in particular are a huge help to Blissey, as they will wear down Pokemon such as Choice Specs Kyogre, Mewtwo, Garchomp, and Groudon; all of which are problems for Blissey. Stealth Rock can also be useful for the same reasons. Although Blissey can use Stealth Rock herself, it is better to have other Pokemon do this for her. Dialga and Groudon are good examples of this. Deoxys-S and Deoxys-D can also use Spikes that Blissey can benefit from. Many teams rely on revenge killing their opponents with powerful special attacks in order to deal with certain threats. For example, many teams count on Choice Scarf Palkia to OHKO Darkrai with Draco Meteor. Blissey can work very well with Darkrai in this case. She can easily switch into the incoming Draco Meteor and use the time to either status the next switch-in or switch to another Pokemon who takes advantage of an incoming physical attacker . In a similar manner, Blissey can also partner well with Garchomp, Rayquaza, and Groudon. Many teams use Lugia to stop all three, and Blissey has no problems with switching into Lugia's Ice Beam. Blissey can then threaten to cripple it or the next switch-in with Toxic.

Even with incredible walls such as Giratina and Lugia in the Uber tier, Blissey is still the number one special wall to use. Blissey is the only Pokemon in Ubers that can wall such a wide variety of special threats, such as Latias, Latios (as long as it lacks Refresh or Safeguard), Palkia, Dialga (provided they aren't mixed), and Calm Mind Lugia. As far as attacking options go, Seismic Toss is generally the most reliable as it will do a decent amount of damage to Pokemon like Kyogre and Latias. Toxic complements this set well, as the combination of Protect and Wish can very easily stall Pokemon to death. Toxic is a good choice to use if you predict the opponent is going to switch, as several threats to Blissey (Kyogre, Darkrai, and Giratina-O) become much easier to handle when badly poisoned. Thunder Wave can be used over Toxic as well. Although not recommended due to moveslot competition, Heal Bell can be used over Protect if your team needs both a status reliever and a user of Wish. Blissey is one of the few viable Wish passers in the Uber tier, thus many good teammates for Blissey are simply Pokemon who greatly appreciate Wish. A perfect example of this is Choice Specs Kyogre. While Choice Specs Kyogre is an insanely powerful wallbreaker, Water Spout's power will unfortunately decrease as Kyogre's HP diminishes. With Blissey's Wish, Kyogre can have a chance to have an extremely powerful Water Spout again. In a similar manner, Choice Scarf Kyogre will also love Wish. Wobbuffet is another Pokemon who greatly benefits from Wish support. It, while being bulky, will usually only be able to revenge kill one Pokemon per match. With Blissey's Wish, Wobbuffet will be able to stay in battle for a much longer period of time, thus making it much more difficult for the opponent to handle. Another Pokemon who benefits from Blissey's Wish is Forretress. This will allow Forretress to take more powerful hits from the likes of Garchomp, allowing it to have more time to set up Spikes and Toxic Spikes. Finally, a defensive support Groudon will have a much easier time dealing with Lucario and Rayquaza thanks to Blissey's Wish support; as well as support Dialga having an easier time dealing with Palkia and Kyogre. While Blissey may still be the queen of special walling in Ubers, some of the special attackers of Ubers are so powerful that they can break through her. A good example of this is Kyogre, which has several sets that can make Blissey run for cover. Choice Specs Kyogre is so absurdly powerful that it can 2HKO Blissey with Water Spout, as long as it has at least 80% of its health. Kyogre can also use 252 HP EVs to make 101 HP Substitutes, which means that it can set up Calm Mind while Blissey is forced to use Seismic Toss twice to break the Substitutes. After three Calm Minds, a Modest Kyogre will always 2HKO Blissey with Surf, even when accounting for Leftovers recovery. Finally, Kyogre may carry the combination of Sleep Talk and Rest to either set up Calm Mind on Blissey or to outstall her. To solve the problems Blissey has with Kyogre, Latias should always be considered. Latias can switch into Choice Specs Kyogre's Water Spout, and use Thunder to weaken its power by reducing Kyogre's HP. Latias can use Calm Mind as the other Kyogre variants attempt to set up, and will usually beat it. The combination of Latias and Blissey will wall every single Kyogre set, making Latias an excellent teammate for Wish Blissey. Palkia is another good option if you only need a Pokemon to beat Choice Specs Kyogre. Something to note is that once Kyogre has switched into Stealth Rock twice, it will no longer be able to 2HKO Blissey with a Choice Specs Water Spout, thus Blissey will be able to wall it if it lacks Hydro Pump or Spikes support. Manaphy can also cause serious issues for Blissey when it's raining. It will be immune to status and can set up Tail Glow or Rest off the damage it has taken and wake up immediately afterwards, thanks to its ability, Hydration. After two Tail Glows and Life Orb, Manaphy will always 2HKO Blissey with Surf. To beat Manaphy, Latias once again makes an excellent teammate, as it OHKOes it with Thunder after Stealth Rock and will win a Calm Mind war if Manaphy attempts that. Nasty Plot Darkrai can cause some serious problems for Blissey. After one use of Nasty Plot, Darkrai will 2HKO Blissey with Focus Blast. To make matters even worse, Darkrai can carry Substitute to block Thunder Wave and Toxic. It can also put Blissey to sleep with Dark Void, not only giving it the opportunity to set up, but also dealing damage with its ability, Bad Dreams. Generally, the best way to deal with Darkrai is to predict a Dark Void and send in a sleep absorber (usually carrying Sleep Talk, but this is not required). Then, switch to a Pokemon who can revenge kill Darkrai (such as Life Orb Mewtwo, Choice Scarf Palkia, Choice Specs Shaymin-S, etc.). Something to note is if a Choice Scarf Darkrai switches into Blissey, it is likely that it is carrying Trick, thus it is best to switch to a Choice Scarf user of your own or a Pokemon who does not mind being Tricked with a Choice Scarf. Mewtwo can also pose a problem for Blissey, due to Taunt and Substitute. Mewtwo can make 101 HP Substitutes and use Calm Mind to beat Blissey in a similar way Kyogre can. It also has the option of using Taunt and Recover to PP stall Blissey, thanks to Pressure. In a similar manner, Mew can Taunt Blissey and use the time to set up and Baton Pass to a powerful Pokemon such as Groudon. To stop Substitute Mewtwo and Baton Pass Mew, Scizor makes an excellent choice. Mewtwo can be hit hard by Pursuit even if it stays in, while Mew will get its Reflect and Light Screen broken by Brick Break and be OHKOed by U-turn. Choice Specs Kyogre also works well, as it can switch into a defensive Mewtwo with ease and threaten to OHKO with Water Spout, while Mew will take massive damage. Another problem for Blissey is Giratina as it can easily outstall Blissey due to its Pressure ability and Ghost-typing. Giratina can also use a combination of Sleep Talk, Rest, and Calm Mind to set up on Blissey. Although it's very rare, Latias and Latios can beat Blissey in a similar manner with Calm Mind, Recover, and either Refresh or Safeguard. Generally, the best answer to Giratina is Bulk Up Dialga. Dialga can easily set up Bulk Up as Giratina uses Will-O-Wisp and then use Rest to restore its health. After three uses of Bulk Up, Dialga will always OHKO Giratina with Outrage. For Calm Mind Giratina, Tyranitar can switch in and cause a serious amount of damage with a Choice Banded Crunch. For Latias and Latios, Tyranitar, Scizor, and Metagross can penetrate them with Pursuit or their powerful STAB attacks. If Giratina-O switches in on any move but Thunder Wave or Toxic, it can pose a serious threat to not only Blissey, but also to the rest of the team. After four uses of Calm Mind, Giratina-O is able to 2HKO Blissey with Dragon Pulse, and then threaten to sweep the rest of your team. To solve this issue, it is advisable to use a Careful Forretress with Light Screen and Payback. Forretress can switch into Giratina-O, use Light Screen to minimize the damage it takes, and then 4HKO Giratina-O with Payback. It is also a huge help to Blissey, due to Toxic Spikes. When Forretress sets up two layers of Toxic Spikes, several big threats to Blissey, such as Darkrai, Choice Specs Kyogre, and Substitute Mewtwo, will become much easier to handle due to the constant damage from poison. If Forretress does not fit on your team, it is best to use Tyranitar, whose combination of Crunch and Sand Stream will make Giratina-O's life short. If Shaymin-S is using a Modest nature and Choice Specs, it can 2HKO Blissey with Seed Flare if it gets a Special Defense drop. Choice Scarf Dialga, Choice Scarf Heatran, Choice Scarf Jirachi, and Choice Scarf Metagross are capable of switching into a Choice Specs Seed Flare, and can OHKO Shaymin-S with Draco Meteor (Dialga), Fire Blast (Dialga and Heatran), or Ice Punch (Jirachi and Metagross). Be warned, Choice Scarf Jirachi and Choice Scarf Metagross will still take a significant amount of damage from repeated switch-ins to Seed Flare, despite their resistance. Skarmory can take a Seed Flare due to its 4x resistance, and Whirlwind Shaymin-S away. Choice Band Scizor can also switch into Seed Flare, and threaten to 2HKO it with Bullet Punch. Latias and Lugia can survive two Seed Flares (although it will do a severe amount of damage to both if it gets a Special Defense drop), and threaten to OHKO Shaymin-S with Dragon Pulse and Ice Beam respectively after taking Stealth Rock damage. Wobbuffet can switch into Blissey, trap it, and use a combination of Tickle and Encore several times. After Wobbuffet is done Tickling Blissey, the opponent can switch to Scizor or Tyranitar to eliminate Blissey with Pursuit. Blissey can also become set up bait for Wobbuffet, which is very undesirable with the powerful sweepers roaming around in the Uber tier.

Set Description Blissey's flagship set stonewalls most special attackers, including Kyogre, Mewtwo, Latios, and Latias; it cleanly beats any sets that don't have means to combat status, and it can even force Refresh Latios and Latias to use a move—Recover or Refresh—that a teammate such as Deoxys-A can switch in on to threaten them. Soft-Boiled combined with Natural Cure allows it to continue to take powerful special attacks indefinitely and be resilient to status. Toxic and Seismic Toss together can at least mildly threaten most foes. Heal Bell provides invaluable support to the team, but Wish is a usable alternative. The EVs provided maximize its mixed bulk; a Bold nature can be used over Calm to improve its matchup against physical attackers such as Ho-Oh and support Groudon, but the improved special bulk is generally more important. Instead of Seismic Toss, Light Screen can give a phazer, usually Lugia, a chance to beat setup by protecting it while it phazes, but it worsens Blissey's matchup against Steel-types. Snatch can defeat Latias and Latios by preventing them from removing Toxic with Refresh, as well as cushioning Blissey against Substitute + Calm Mind users by stealing Calm Mind from them. Other possibilities for the moveslot are Psych Up, which can boost its Special Defense alongside Calm Mind users similarly to Snatch, and Icy Wind, which can slow Latias down for Taunt + Toxic Deoxys-D to beat. Flamethrower or Fire Blast can be used instead of Seismic Toss on sun teams to hit Steel-types significantly harder at the cost of being worse against most other targets and being disruptable by Kyogre's rain. It is also possible to run a spread of 180 HP / 76 Def / 252 SpD to avoid being 2HKOed by Kyogre's Hydro Pump in rain even when switching in on a Calm Mind, although this will immensely reduce Blissey's ability to take physical hits. Team Options Blissey needs ironclad switch-ins to Metagross, Snorlax, Forretress, and Deoxys-A, some way to confront the specialized setup that can beat it, a spinner to remove the Spikes that plague it, some countermeasure to the physical attackers that can threaten it, and usually Spikes to help pressure its often Spikes-weak switch-ins to patch up its passivity. Forretress is almost always used alongside Blissey, being the tier's most viable user of Rapid Spin, a switch-in to Metagross, Snorlax, and Deoxys-A, a user of Spikes, and a means to beat Latias via Explosion. Lugia is also a common partner, checking Snorlax, Metagross, and nearly every other physical attacker that threatens Blissey out; it can also set up Reflect to cushion Blissey against physical attacks, including weaker Explosions, and it benefits greatly from Blissey's Heal Bell. Salamence can check Deoxys-A and Groudon and bolster Blissey's Heal Bell support with its own Wish support, and it enjoys said Heal Bell. Deoxys-D can threaten Latias and Latios more immediately with Knock Off and set up Spikes for Blissey, and it can in turn take advantage of Heal Bell. Metagross can check Snorlax and Deoxys-A and use Explosion to remove some of the specially offensive sets that can beat Blissey. Latias or Latios can be used to defeat Kyogre variants that Blissey cannot: Substitute + Calm Mind and Rest+Calm Mind. Groudon can help Blissey by setting up sun, significantly lowering Kyogre's damage output and preventing Blissey from being frozen. Ho-Oh benefits from Light Screen softening damage from Latias and Latios, allowing it to more freely hit them with Shadow Ball. Ho-Oh and Deoxys-A can take advantage of Blissey forcing Latias and Latios to use Recover or Refresh to freely switch in and threaten them.
