Analisi

With its decent Speed and movepool options, Sigilyph is able to be used as either a wallbreaker, sweeper, or Defogger that is able to exert offensive pressure. Additionally, with its Magic Guard ability, it isn't hindered by status such as poison and burn, which improves its capability to break through bulky Pokemon that utilize status moves such as Milotic and Registeel. Heat Wave allows Sigilyph to hit Steel-types such as Steelix, Registeel, and Metagross that would wall Sigilyph otherwise. Energy Ball OHKOes Rhyperior with minimal chip and 2HKOes Milotic with Stealth Rock. Calm Mind lets Sigilyph take advantage of Umbreon and break through bulkier opposition. Defog can be utilized on teams that have sufficient wallbreaking power but are weak to entry hazards, leveraging its good matchup versus common hazard setters in the tier such as Steelix and Roserade. Psychic is an alternative on Defog sets that can be considered over Air Slash to better deal with the Stealth Rock users Rhyperior and Nidoqueen. However, this would miss out on hitting key targets such as Incineroar, Starmie, and Guzzlord. Sigilyph fits best on offensive and balanced team structures. Wallbreakers like Bewear and Sharpedo that are able to beat out or heavily weaken specially defensive Pokemon such as Umbreon, Snorlax, and Incineroar complement Sigilyph nicely. In return, Sigilyph is able to help weaken bulky Pokemon, such as Milotic and Gardevoir, that check said wallbreakers. Specially defensive Pokemon such as Umbreon and Snorlax and Ground-types such as Nidoqueen, Steelix, and Flygon can all be good partners, as they help answer threatening Electric-types such as Raikou and Xurkitree. Sigilyph's ability to repeatedly beat down and keep entry hazards off the field against Steel-types such as Steelix and Registeel is valued by offensive Pokemon such as Calm Mind Raikou, Choice Scarf Gardevoir, and Xurkitree, as well as defensive Pokemon like Umbreon and Snorlax.
