Análisis

Choice Scarf Krokorok is a solid form of speed control that can also act as a late-game sweeper. With Moxie, Krokorok constantly threatens to run away with the game, only fearing being revenge killed by faster Choice Scarf users such as Monferno and Girafarig, as well as strong priority moves from Piloswine and Thwackey. Earthquake makes for an excellent late-game sweeping tool once Ground-immunitie and -resistant foes have been dealt with. Knock Off guarantees progress in the mid-game. Stone Edge allows Krokorok to OHKO Fletchinder, which is often the only Ground-immune Pokemon standing between it and an Earthquake sweep. Brick Break hits Scraggy, Piloswine, and Dunsparce harder than Earthquake under Grassy Terrain while also breaking dual screens. Aqua Tail is an option to deal more damage to Piloswine and opposing Krokorok. Stealth Rock is a niche option on teams desperate for a Stealth Rock setter. It can also potentially bluff a non-Choice Scarf set. Choice Scarf Krokorok fits on teams that need both strong speed control and a solid cleaner. For instance, defensively oriented entry hazard stacking structures appreciate Krokorok's Knock Off and late-game offensive pressure. Offensively, Krokorok appreciates hazard support from the likes of Quilladin, Dunsparce, and Glimmet to secure OHKOs against the likes of defensive Drakloak and Tinkatuff. Krokorok also needs help breaking Water- and Grass-type physical walls such as Quaxwell, Ivysaur, and Quilladin. Strong special attackers such as Drakloak, Girafarig, and Hisuian Sliggoo, as well as Fire-types such as Raboot, Monferno, and Pignite, help here. Defensively, Krokorok needs sturdy answers to Pokemon that can revenge kill it, such as Quaxwell for Choice Scarf Monferno and Piloswine, Koffing for Thwackey, and Hisuian Sliggoo for Choice Scarf Girafarig. Fletchinder is an exceptional teammate for Krokorok, countering major threats to Krokorok such as Monferno and Thwackey on account of its great defensive typing, STAB Brave Bird, and, for the latter, Flame Body. Ivysaur is another strong partner for Krokorok since its typing enables it to deal with Water- and Grass-types both offensively and defensively. It also absorbs Toxic Spikes, which Krokorok appreciates, while Ivysaur appreciates Krokorok's Psychic-type immunity.

Análisis

Krokorok is an effective Stealth Rock setter thanks to its great typing and strong matchup against many prominent Pokemon in the tier. The offensive pressure of STAB Knock Off and Earthquake's coverage often results in Krokorok getting free turns to use Stealth Rock on a switch. Earthquake deters common dedicated Knock Off absorbers such as Tinkatuff and Koffing. Taunt prevents entry hazards, recovery, and status spam, and it crucially stops sweepers like Scraggy, Dunsparce, and Wartortle from setting up on Krokorok for free. Rock Slide is an option to OHKO Fletchinder, and it can also be handy for breaking Tinkatuff's Air Balloon on the switch in without making contact and allowing Tinkatuff to steal Krokorok's Eviolite with Pickpocket. Stealth Rock Krokorok wins most of its interactions with opposing entry hazard setters, notably including Tinkatuff and Glimmet, while remaining a good progress maker with STAB Knock Off. It therefore fits on team structures that are able to capitalize on this by applying sustained offensive pressure. This can be achieved with setup sweepers like Scraggy and Wartortle, naturally strong hitters like Pignite and Thwackey, and offensive pivots like Drakloak and Monferno. Krokorok needs teammates that are able to deal with Quaxwell, which not only completely walls and counters it but also threatens to spin away its hard-earned Stealth Rock. This weakness can be covered by the likes of Thwackey, Servine, or Drakloak, though all three must be wary of Quaxwell with Triple Axel. Piloswine is the main Stealth Rock setter that beats Krokorok one-on-one, so Piloswine countermeasures are absolutely necessary. This can include Seadra, Dunsparce, and Duosion. Finally, Krokorok appreciates some hazard control from its teammates, since Spikes and Toxic Spikes severely hinder its ability to get value in longer games. Quaxwell and Fletchinder emerge as prime candidates that can compress both of these last two roles, albeit to different extents.
