Análisis

Set Details Psychic Noise makes it harder for Pokemon such as Vaporeon, Bellibolt, and Chansey to sit in front of Espeon after Magic Bounce denies their utility moves. Thunder Wave provides speed control, letting Espeon punish faster threats like Munkidori, Flamigo, and Scyther as well as setup sweepers such as Meloetta and Cinccino that try to take advantage of it. Grass Knot heavily damages Ground- and Rock-types like Swampert and Rhyperior, preventing them from freely setting entry hazards against Espeon, while Alluring Voice hits Dark-types such as Scrafty, Wo-Chien, and Brute Bonnet. Shadow Ball is another option for hitting Psychic- and Ghost-types such as Bronzong, Galarian Slowbro, and Chandelure. Rocky Helmet punishes contact moves from Pokemon such as Tsareena, Scyther, and Cinccino while letting Espeon beat Chansey one-on-one. Eject Button is useful on faster teams, especially weather teams, to immediately bring in a teammate after Espeon denies a utility move. Espeon can also switch in on a weak pivoting move such as Gligar's U-turn, Swampert's Flip Turn, and or Bellibolt's Volt Switch to activate Eject Button and bring in a teammate. The Speed investment lets it outspeed Jolly Flygon and Flamigo, while the Defense investment lets it survive Rhyperior's Earthquake and Scyther's U-turn from full HP. Tera Fairy improves Espeon's matchup against Dark- and Fighting-types; Tera Steel gives it a stronger defensive profile against Pokemon like Sylveon, Cinccino, and Goodra; and Tera Ghost lets it block Rapid Spin while gaining a useful Boomburst immunity, letting it slow down Dudunsparce. However, Tera Fairy makes Espeon weak to Duraludon's Steel-type attacks and Munkidori's Poison-type attacks, Tera Steel leaves it vulnerable to Choice Scarf Flamigo's Close Combat, and Tera Ghost faces competition from the more impactful defensive utility of Tera Fairy and Tera Steel. Espeon fits on balance, bulky offense, and sun teams that appreciate Magic Bounce denying entry hazards and status without losing momentum. Eject Button is especially useful on sun teams, bringing in wallbreakers such as Venusaur, Scovillain, and Brute Bonnet while preserving limited sun turns. Outside of sun, frail wallbreakers such as Flamigo, Basculegion-M, and Meloetta also appreciate Eject Button bringing them in safely. Hazard-weak teammates such as Choice item Chandelure and Staraptor appreciate Espeon's hazard control giving them more chances to switch in and apply pressure. Entry hazard setters such as Klefki, Gligar, Swampert, and Duraludon also appreciate Espeon making opposing hazard control a pain, as Rocky Helmet punishes Tsareena for using Rapid Spin, while Tera Ghost can be used to spinblock when needed. In return, Gligar can act as a check to both Incineroar and Overqwil, while Paldean Tauros-W and Flamigo threaten Dark-types such as Incineroar, Scrafty, and Brute Bonnet that can otherwise force Espeon out. Dark- and Water-type teammates such as Incineroar, Wo-Chien, and Vaporeon help cover Ghost-types like Chandelure, Houndstone, and Basculegion-M. Espeon also appreciates teammates that can handle strong pivoting attackers; Bellibolt can punish U-turn from Flamigo, Scyther, and Tsareena with Static, while Rhyperior outright blocks Volt Switch from Kilowattrel and pressures it with Stone Edge. Steel-types such as Copperajah and Duraludon can help against common attackers like Cinccino and Scyther while also giving Espeon sturdier defensive support against Ambipom and Munkidori.
