Analysis

Set Details U-turn is used for pivoting and to force out Rotom-C. If Togedemaru is unable to KO a target, it can still use Nuzzle for speed control versus some threats like Salazzle and Passimian. Toxic instead hits physical walls like Mudsdale and Quagsire, though note that U-turn is often better when anticipating these Ground-types switching in. Special attackers like Starmie, Drampa, and Exploud benefit the most from Togedemaru's pivoting. They in turn deal with the physical walls that prevent Togedemaru from cleaning. Togedemaru succumbs easily to status, especially due to U-turn sometimes triggering Talonflame's and Vileplume's abilities, so clerics like Diancie and Vaporeon are a good call. These two appreciate Togedemaru checking Rotom-C and can remove burns induced by Will-O-Wisp Rotom-C. Try additional pivots like Talonflame, Silvally-Ground, and Xatu to form a VoltTurn core and preserve momentum.

Analysis

Set Details Iron Head lets Togedemaru force out Fairy-types, though Zing Zap is sometimes used instead for its coverage versus Steel- and Water-type walls like Copperajah and Vaporeon. U-turn is essential for gaining momentum after switching into special attackers like Rotom-C and Heliolisk. Otherwise, Toxic punishes most switch-ins like Mudsdale and works well with Spiky Shield. U-turn + Toxic is doable at the expense of recovery from Wish. 56 Speed EVs with a Jolly nature mean that Togedemaru will outspeed wallbreakers like Tyrantrum and Exploud. Flying-types like Talonflame, Mantine, and Xatu rely on Togedemaru to switch into Electric-types like Rotom-C and Heliolisk. In return, these teammates check Fighting- and Ground-types like Passimian and Silvally-Ground. Defensive Poison-types like Vileplume and Weezing also offer similar synergy. Using Wish is a great way to bring in offensive teammates like Tsareena and Silvally-Ground, which can provide further momentum with their own pivoting moves.
